so why didnt vitali if these guys did.

u do your argument no favours by belittling the guy who stopped prime vitali early.

The fact of the matter is he threw the belt in the trash on live TV. I’m sorry that they had other plans to build this and that but when it came down to actually making the fight against his mandatory, Bowe didn’t want it at that time and Lewis took his strap.

Lennox fought a ton of contenders. Not a resume that you should dissect too much if you're looking to randomly hate on him. If you picked Tyson or Dempsey, I'd agree with you much more and like to push that point.

Lummox is definitely a little overrated. You are probably correct with your assessment of some.of these wins, but there were so many 'good' wins, the fact that he never had a 'great' win is kind of compensated for.

Sure, he picked the belt out of the trash can and a brief career as a paper champion before McCall knocked him out. And when Bowe was no longer champ, he was ready to challenge Lewis for that paper title, too! Lewis getting KOd killed that possibility.

The bottom line is these two didn't face each other, and there is more than enough fault for this on both sides.

What if Lewis fought Maskaev? Maskaev had skill and could punch.

Maskaev was extremely slow (even slower than Rahman) and had probably the worst chin of all heavyweight champions in boxing history. He could have KOed LL if he landed his big right hand, but it seems extremely unlikely.

I think Lewis would have KOed him early.

Rahman gives him a run for his money as the most glass jawed HW champ. Don't forget when they fought that Oleg starched him twice. Hell, he knocked him right out of the ring!

Lewis best wins were against a drugged up, used up, fighting to pay off debts, past prime Mike Tyson and a Oliver Mccall who was out of his mind from losing his mother

So the op has a valid argument.

No they didn't. Vitali was out for several months recovering from the cuts he suffered and when he returned he was ordered to fight Kirk Johnson in a WBC Eliminator. The WBC never ordered an immediate rematch.
