Sometimes I think that's one of the biggest reasons why Lewis was so successful. He was the least crazy of them all and never self-destructed.

I'm a Lennox fan and I say yes. Ike was crazy tough. Unfortunately too crazy outside the ring also.

I think Lennox could add Godzilla to his resume and he'd still have his detractors. The guy did just about all he could do in his era.

No, I think Lennox would have beaten Ike, but it definitely would not have been a cakewalk for him.

There was talk of an Lewis -Ike match going on just about the time that Vegas hooker demolished his career. I knew Ike from the day he walked into the late great Curtis Cokes gym in Dallas Texas. He was a crude brawler when he arrived & Curtis was the man that formed him into the complete boxer puncher.
As for the Ike-Kirk sparring it was Kirks manager that didnt want Kirk sparring Ike because he just hit so hard
Ike-Lennox would have been a great fight a real barn burner
Curtis had 2 HW's at that time capable of winning a title BOTH were derailed for different reasons. Curtis was one of the best

I think Lewis would be too smart. He would know the threat Ike had so treat him accordingly and that means a dull decision victory. I would have picked Ike over the Klitschcko’s though especially the early/mid 2000’s Wlad.

If Lewis was in the zone then he beats him, if his attitude was the same of the first Rahman fight then he could get knocked out.
A Lewis at his best beats him though, Ike is overrated on here.

Lewis would have won, he'd have beaten Ike on points. Lewis would fought a safety first type fight, as the rounds went on, Lennox starts attacking Ike more confidentiality. He bangs out a lop sided decision.

Ike couldn't outbox Tua he certainly wasn't outboxing Lewis.

This very thorough oral history of Ike’s rise and fall (including many of his issues/misadventures outside the ring that weren’t as well known at the time, or known at all) puts Ibeabuchi in perspective (and also talks about the course he was on to fight Lewis, and why it didn’t happen):

I wouldnt necessarily say lucky but it would have been a very good matchup. Ike has a lot of attributes to trouble Lennox Lewis.

Lennox had the power to discourage just about anybody. Especially if their defense was lacking. Ike's defense was lacking, Bowe's defense was lacking.
