Ike dismantled his own career. Nobody but him.

I would favor Lewis but Ike would of been a very live underdog based on the byrd and Tua fights.

He doesn't necessarily have to outbox him to win.

McCall didn't outcox him. Rahmann didn't outbox him.

So 14 months in jail under heavy sedation didnt affect him I guess ?? Ike's biggest mistake was ever calling that lying Vegas hooker. Also what about his management?? Why didnt they ever get him the help he needed ?? They just wanted to make $$$$$$$$ off his back. Didnt give a **** !!

Both those losses were Lennox own fault under estimating his opponent & goofing around. He certanly evgened the score in the rematches though didnt he lol Rahmann flat on his back his head perfecly placed in the King logo was a classic

I think a lot depends on whether or not - and, if so, how much - Ibeabuchi could have improved in a couple of fights or so, post-Byrd. I think there might have been some and extra experience would have helped.

However, even then, Ibeabuchi would need to be well-prepared for a fight at 5,200 ft. above sea-level and for Lewis to show up in poor shape, at that altitude, the day before the bout, and at his most complacent ever, for him to have a real chance at beating him.

I think Ibeabuchi would have always made a fight out of it and worth the watch - but, bar a freak set of circumstances (including Lewis' subconscious desire to lose the contest), the gap in class would have been too wide for Ike to close.

They were both far more dangerous with one punch than Ike was imo. I think Ike does need to box well to land enough significant blows to score a KO and I don't think he had it in him

A focused, dedicated Lewis is about the worst match-up possible in the division's history. I didn't see anything from Ike that would lead me to favor him over Lewis or even make me doubt Lewis' chances.

No, but it suggests he's not necessarily the smartest boxer and a knockout is his only way to win. Lewis fought tons of huge punchers in his career and in the end he beat them all. People would probably claim Tommy Morrison would beat LL had they not fought.

Lewis didn't fight Holyfield until he was past his prime and didn't face Tyson until he was badly faded.

In addition to that he missed out on Bowe, Moorer, Witherspoon, Ibeabuchi, Sanders, Wladimir Klitschko, Byrd, and Ruiz. Clearly he could have done more.

No fighter in history has fought every contender. Lewis didnt swerve any of these guys and a few of them aren't even worth mentioning. Bowe ducked Lewis, that is not Lennox's fault

Was it Lewis' fault that Tyson didn't fight him in 1994?

Did we really miss out on him fighting Witherspoon, Moorer, a very green Wlad, Byrd or Ruiz? Instead he chose bangers like Grant, Morrison, Briggs, Tua, Bruno, Ruddock, Golota, Rahman, McCall and Vitali. I think he think he clearly did alot. Add in tough outs like Holy, Botha, Mercer Tucker and you have more than could be asked of champ in terms of depth and dangerous power brokers.
