That's what I heard people saying. I don't know if it's true. Maybe it was a Tyson who had been shot for 12 years? Remember kids: to become an ATG, you have to BEAT AN ATG (Tyson).
Didn't I make a thread about how brittards love to overrate him? Guess I made a thread about someone I don't know exists. Impressive. Run along now kiddo.
No. His two best wins are probably the demolitions of Ruddock and Golota. In my opinion, his best wins are: 1) Ruddock 2) Golota 3) Vitali 4) Tua 5) Morrison 6) Holyfield 7) Tyson 8) Rahman II 9) Briggs 10) Grant I rated them not on name value, but where they stood in the division at the time Lewis beat them, how he beat them, and based on how much they would accomplish later. Lennox doesn't have a win over a prime fellow ATG, but he does have a slew of high quality wins. That's what makes his resume so strong; it's literally a who's who of heavyweights from that era.
Hmmm. ESB told me you have to beat an ATG to become an ATG. Lennox never beat an ATG who was in his prime? His resume is thinner than I once believed.
If you go by that logic, it becomes virtually impossible to become an ATG. Floyd Mayweather would not be an ATG under that logic. The two ways to become an ATG are to put together a resume with lots of past-it big names and high quality prime fighters, or a smaller record with a handful of huge wins over fellow ATGs. The best of the best can do both, but that's harder to find. Door #1: Lennox Lewis, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mike Tyson Door #2: Sugar Ray Leonard is the best example Door #3: George Foreman, Muhammad Ali, etc.
Good post Hawk, Lennox also beat a prime Ray Mercer and both of the guys who beat him so his resume is great as far as iam concerned iam a hugh fan of the Klitschko's and Lennox
