Man this is definitely top 5 if not top 3. I gotta disagree about SRL losing because of a strategy that wasn't clearly working the first 5 rounds. No matter what he would of done, Roberto was the better man that night. Duran wasn't just brawling and if you think that then you really dksab. SRL wasn't fighting Roberto's fight by CHOICE, Roberto forced him, just look how Duran's overlooked footwork eliminated SRL's range over and over again. Roberto was one step ahead. He was in fabulous condition that was the best Duran.

No, it's not in my top 5. I have a lot of fights ranked higher, including one that year in Saad-Lopez 2.

It's definitely an ATG performance by Duran. And Leonard also fought very well, and finished strong despite taking a bad hammering to the body.

If like me you switch off Jim Watt and listen to the radio, Steve Bunce is being an utter bell end

Certainly not in my top 5. Not my favorite fight of 1980 even. But it's kinda refreshing to see a much hyped fight, that turned out to be a great fight as well. Comparing it to the latest much hyped FOTC, that was just as I anticipated. Dull.

Great fight top 5 fight of the 80s sure. But I honestly wouldn't have it in my top 20 fights ever.

It's definitely up there with the very best. Certainly in my top 3 of the eighties, along with Leonard-Hearns I and Hagler-Hearns.

Not in my top ten probably. Maybe, I'll have to watch it again. I change my mind about fights sometimes. It's sort of like how people talk about the Castillo Corrales fight being the best of this century, but I've always preferred Gatti Ward, Barrera Morales, and Marquez Vazquez. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Not top 5 for me but definitely top 10.

Funny thing is I'm even sure if this is Duran's best fight.

De Jesus II and III where both awesome fights, as was his fight against Palomino, Barkley and Moore.
