Rose from Bantamweight to Middleweight, defeated Rocky Kansas x2 and Johnny Dundee x3. Had 2 fights with Benny Leonard and 1 fight against Mickey Walker, all losses by decision. He also fought Joe Dundee to a draw. Sadly, he never managed to capture a title during his run, and retired 144-16-8.

The title is pretty self explanatory. Where would you rank him? He might be worthy of a 100-75 ranking IMO

Dear Sir you make some great post, I don't his record off hand but just your knowledge tells me a lot. I would off hand rank him in top 70-80gtade fighters. I do remember he took Ace Hudkins the limit when he was well past prime. if you have anything on Ace happy to hear it. Know he took great Mickey Walker 2 times distance middle title. Some said he was robbed 1st on in Comisky park. Heard Ace most popular fighter 1920s SO. Cal,take care

I've heard that Ace was extremely popular during the 20s as well, in fact http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Ace_Hudkins boxrec lists him as one of the most popular during the late 20s. He did take Walker the distance, terrific contender

Ace seemed to be a good fighter of his era, with a win over King Levinsky, and going the distance twice with Walker. He even held Walker to a split decision

Yeah I'd say so, but it's open to change and I may have to slot him in a number 101
