That quote is from a 18-19? Year old Foreman sparring his hero. Plenty of guys have said Liston hit harder namely Wepner off the top of my head?
Others have said otherwise like all these punchers it matters how they hit a guy if it was a good punch and so on.
At the end of the day the difference between hard hitting 200-225 guys is probably very little to not noticeable.
Totally overrated aspect of boxing that people seem to obsess over constantly because it’s easy to see.

Ali said that after Foreman fight and after comparing him to Frazier after their 3rd fight.
Foreman knocked more bigger opponent and punched heavybag harder that is enough to vote for him as the harder puncher and stronger man.

I've quoted the Wepner account so many times, but it oftentimes feels like people don't take fighter accounts to hold much weight unless it's someone at the top. It really blows because these statements can give us a much better picture of what we see in the ring, and are the true foundation of conversations like this.

No he's not. He is a better puncher though.

Liston was a better boxer than Foreman and timed his punches and placement better. Foreman largely relied on keeping a guy where he wanted him by shoving him into place and then carpet bombing him. In terms of brute power Foreman is stronger than Liston in my view.
