no LnP is not fighting your a ****** GSP is not and never was a LnP fighter, hes got the most active top game in mma and 1 of the best stand up fighters in mma just very under-rated.
hes misunderstood not under rated. hes p4p on most ppls list. im not calling you a nut hugger but its the same thing with fighters i like. ppl often react to the fans more than the man himself. who really hates fedor? i mean seriously, youd have to be ******ed to hate the man, but ppl like to have little fan wars and the same thing is true for gsp. he is on most p4p lists as #1 or there abouts tho. and rightly so. hes one of the closest things to a ''perfect'' mma machine there is...however when that involves a guy who was stand up orientated progressively riding (one sided) decisions, it says something about the way the games changed and i think that is an irritant for some. i look forward to watching him paste the floor with koscheck.
perfect example of my point. the guy on the bottom was doing SOMETHING, in fact one of the more interesting bottom attacks I've seen, yet got nothing for it.
I know, in my mind Moussassi won that fight. The only thing King Mo was doing was trying not to get KTFO or subbed... !
Its supposed to be a fight. The emphasis is supposed to be to submit, tap, or knock your opponent out. If the emphasis is to out score your opponent via rounds, then they should not call it an MMA fight, but an MMA match. Wrestling has aspects of control and damage which include slams, locks and submissions. If you aren't employing any of the damaging aspects, then you aren't really applying the fighting aspect of wrestling. Someone like Pernell Whitaker would dodge shots and land his own. If he just stood there and made you miss, he wouldn't be able to score.. This is part of what is messed up about MMA scoring. This isn't to say things should be purely quantitative, ie who goes for the most failed subs.. But it should be qualitative.. If you commit hard, land a sub and come close to tapping your opponent, this should mean a lot. It should mean more than something like a half assed guillotine, or half assed anything used just for positioning. This means that the sub game should be qualitatively judged.. It leaves room for mistakes, but its a lot better than the way things are now.
