Haha what? Floyd is good at many things but transitioning between offense and defense is one of his glaring weaknesses. He can only do one thing at a time, look at his earlier fights when he was more offense minded and you'll see how often he would get tagged (especially on the inside). Vasyl is far past him in that regard.
Well...Floyd's pull counter is one example of that type of transition. It's a transition between defense and offense all in one fluid movement. Another example would be when he uses the straight right or the one two combo and then anticipates where the opponent will swing right after, and ducks under it. A fluid transition between offense and defense. Lomachenko on the other hand uses his legs to execute his transition. He is moving around all night and throwing in combination at varying speeds. So, he can hit or touch his opponent while changing the angle, all in a very fluid manner. It takes a lot of stamina to do what he does. Both do it well...in their own way. Floyd does it better from a stationary position, at this point, since he doesn't use his legs quite as much as he used to. And Lomachenko does it better, on the move, while staying in punching range. To me, both are beautiful to watch. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Props to Loma if he goes after the rematch. The last two years have put more wear and tear on Salido and Loma should be able to pull out the W. On the other hand Salido is never an easy fight for anyone and there's still minimal chance that this might backfire on Loma setting him back some.
In an ideal world, I'd like to see Lomachenko v Walters next. If that doesn't happen, I think this would make a lot of sense. Loma looks as if he's already matured as a pro fighter quite a bit. In the first fight v Salido, he looked as if he was too worried about pacing himself and left it too late. He looked as though he's put everything together against Martinez.
"Is Loma from this universe?" Well, the folly of Earth creatures is the lack of perfection. Loma fits that bill, so unfortunately seems to be just a mere universe-dweller who is indeed from this universe.
A shot fighter beats Martinez and has an even fight with Francisco Vargas. Sure. We just want to see Vasyl avenge what is currently the black mark in his career.
I would hardly call Saido shot and yes I think Loma would school him this time around all things being equal (Weight/refereeing of low blows). His footwork is the best in boxing he would befuddle Salido and win a wide UD or even stop him late.
