It depends on who is rating him really. A lot of it appears to be based on what he could do with his time in boxing and I think he can do A LOT, personally. I haven't scrolled through all the pages in this thread because I don't need the headache. I will saw that the OP is thought out and reasonable though, even if you happen to disagree with parts of it, I don't see anything inflammatory there.

Anyway, for that many fights he has an excellent record and he's looked mostly incredible whilst doing it. He got put on his ass by Linares and I'm quite glad because it showed us that he can get back up, take back control and not get flustered. Doing that in what was likely the biggest fight of hsi career is a pretty big deal IMO. In terms of his current peers I think he will go on to prove to be the best of the lot. I don't think that's overrating him personally and I think most would agree that this is a legit possibility.

I think the overrating comes from the hypothetical match ups and stuff. People will pick him against Floyd which I don't think is such an outrageous statement but the argument is of course that he hasn't proven himself as much as past fighters have, which is true. Loma I suspect will go on and prove to be a true elite of the game but he hasn't proved that YET, just merely suggested it.

I failed to see any reason why Lomachenko should be considered overrated. Just because he lost against Salido and now some people think he is not a great talent or boxer ? Seriously ? Did you even watch how he boxed ? The way he is using his vast knowledge, high technical skill and intelligence level to overcome his opponent ? Those are not something that 'regular' world champions, who come and go, can do.

Certainly no boxing fan with right mind is thinking that Lomachenko is bigger than Pacman or Mayweather. Their classes are not even the same right now. And I don't think Lomachenko will step his foot in class higher than 135.

Lomachenko has not even reached the first half of his professional career to be compare to the ATGs.

Lol. Wtf are you talkin about? How many PPVs has Loma had?

Nobody ever heard of him. His skills though, they can't be denied. Not sure the hate?

What is he ranked PFP #2?

    You don't think that's fair?

we will find out if he is overrated later. If you take Hearns or Leonard, many people thought they would be great when they were coming up and they matched it for the most part, and we saw them both tested against the best. Then you have Curry. So we won't know until maybe 5 years if he is the most overrated. Too early to tell now. We might know in a year if he loses to someone easily.

So you're telling me you've never got picks wrongs? Postol and Horn PROVED themselves, what kind of person would I be if I didn't give them their credit after their wins?
