I don’t think anyone should anoint him an ATG after this few fights, but he is an ATG TALENT.

We can say that confidently because of BOTH his unparalleled amateur record and start to his professional career.

The loss to Salido was crooked. There were so many things wrong with that fight from the weigh in to the refereeing to be decision itself. Hold it against him, but it’s *almost* meaningless in the second fight as a professional.

I personally would’ve liked to see him turn pro much sooner as well, but for whatever reason (Olympic yambs pt 2?) he stayed for a longggg time. While there though, he dominated. Zero reason to believe he stayed there to avoid anyone in the pros.

By no means is he Manny/Floyd in terms of accomplishments..... but would you be shocked if he gets there? Eliminate the last 5 years of both Manny/Floyd’s careers and their status doesn’t take a hit. Likewise with the first few years. Loma will have to skip all that and make his entire pro career noteworthy.

The talent itself seems comparable to me. The resume will follow. Geniuses don’t have a resume at 15, but they are still geniuses. By 25, everyone wants them. You don’t just become a genius at 22, you always were.

If Loma isn’t a genius, he partied too hard in the dorms and killed too many brain cells.

And in all of sports, sometimes you get a glimpse of greatness and say “oh ****, we are witnessing greatness.”

So winning titles in three weight classes aren’t real challenges?

Why does a fighter HAVE to be an underdog to impress? I can’t say I recall PAC or Floyd ever being a dog, nor someone like GGG. They instead dominate their opponent so badly you can’t fathom a fighter beating them.

He gets in the ring against Berchelt. You really betting against Loma? Or you just really wanna see how convincingly he wins?

Yes, in my time watching boxing I've seen what looked to be glimpses of greatness in fighters only for said fighter to not reach his potential.

Winning titles in 3 divisions is excellent. But its become easier and more common to do. Broner had won titles in 4 divisions by the age of 26, just too add perspective.

He doesn't have to be the underdog, he just needs to take challenges. Unfortunately for him he doesn't have the elite dance partners Pacquiao, Mayweather, ODLH had.

Ive also stated multiple times that Loma should be the favorite against Berchelt, but it should be close and it is an extremely intersting fight. I would lovs to see Loma against someone who pressures and is strong. The fight would definitely have its redeemable values for Loma.

I've never seen head to head done in any way other than based on the wins they've got/things achieved by them and how they have looked in doing so (skill wise).

You're talking head to head for pound for pound rankings there? How are you gonna say a flyweight beats a cruiser if they were the same weight? There's far too much assuming, make-believe and idealising you'd have to do

Honestly I don't think someone who pressures stands a chance against Lomachenko anyway. No matter how much they pressure, I don't think anyone has the tank to pressure like he does himself. When you watch the guy you're thinking, it must feel like there are 3 of him in the ring with you when fighting him...He's everywhere

I think both Mikey Garcia and Gervonta Tank Davis stop him.

Which is why he needs to go up to 140 or 147.

Don’t forget Rigo even though he was a small chap
I think Lomo is on Fire right now but he has a lot of road ahead of him before he is a GOAT IMO. As a young pro his talent and record is amazing but let’s give him a few years before we circle jerk each other into a bliss

That's what pound for pound is though. Hypothetical in most instances.

Doubt Papa Lomachenko or Arum even want him going to 140. The higher he goes, the more perfect a fight he needs to have. One thing to take a shot from Linares. Another to take one from Prograis or another heavier power puncher.

If he moves to 140 he might feel like he is the one facing two or three guys at once. From 135 and lower he is the man right now and I don’t see anyone changing that for a while

Not even close. I could name fighters all day long that accomplished way more than Loma in the same amount of time.

    Loma's accomplishments in 5 years
    Best wins:
Jorge Linares - WBA 135 Champ
Roman Martinez - Former WBO 130 Champ

    Losses:
Orlando Salido (41-12-2) - WBO 125 Champ. Loma never avenged this loss.

Ray Leonard's accomplishments in 5 years
    Best Wins:
Roberto Duran - WBC 147 Champ and former WBA & WBC 135 Champ
Tommy Hearns - WBA 147 Champ
Wilfred Benitez - WBC 147 Champ

    Losses:
Roberto Duran (71-1-0) - Leonard immediately avenged this loss.

Oscar De La Hoya's accomplishments in 5 years
    Best Wins:
Jimmi Bredahl - WBO 130 Champ
Rafael Ruelas - IBF 135 Champ
Julio Cesar Chavez - WBC 140 Champ, former IBF & WBC 140 Champ, former WBA & WBC 135 Champ, and former WBC 130 Champ.
Pernell Whitaker - WBC 147 Champ, former IBF 140 Champ, and former IBF, WBC, and WBA 135 Champ.

    Losses:
    None
