loma's ascension since turning pro is obviously the quickest. since birth, no where near. i imagine both sets of fans will find problems with that statement.

Not trying to offend you man...... but what is this? I replied to the guy because I disagreed with his assertion that Pac was a more skilled boxer than Lomachenko -- that's it. I never said I think Loma is a better overall boxer or will a have a greater career or anything like that, but as far as boxing skill goes, I don't see how you can say Pac was more skilled. That's it. You go off on some tangent about Duran, I mean how does that relate even slightly to my post? Are you plugged in?

Frankly, I have not heard or seen anyone refer to Loma as the greatest of all time. If he has been given that designation, it would come as a great surprise to me owing to the fact that he has been a pro for only five years. I would think that he needs to maintain his present level of excellence for another five years or more in order to warrant such a reputation. He may well be on his way to establish himself as P4P greatest of all time. But it will take many more victories over the best in his weight class for years to come before he merits such an ambitious classification.

"He beat a guy who is way bigger than him, much bigger puncher than him, faster than him, and skill wise one of the elites in all the sport solely on skill."

You are clearly implying that he is one of the most elite fighters this sport has ever seen. This is the pros, not the amateurs. Quite a lot of other fighters have done what Loma just succeeded in doing against better opposition and more odds stacked against them. Duran's win over Barkley is one example. That is the kind of win where you label the person one of the most elite the sport has ever seen. Not beating Linares.

    Next
"Pac had two of the greatest athletic tools a fighter can have -- unreal speed and explosive punching power. He also clearly had a bigger frame than Loma. Loma is a good to great athlete who is clearly a natural FW and mainly wins because of his skill."

You are cherry picking specific details to bring Loma up and others to put Pac down. Loma has a mental gift that Pac does not. Floyd, Whitaker, Hopkins and El Radar showed what ring IQ can achieve in the ring. Skill is acquired, not something you are born with. What Loma is using is a combination of ring IQ, monster stamina, quick feet, great reflexes, fast reaction time, and decent power which are all gifts he was born with. He is using said skill to make the most of these gifts.

How are you gonna argue one is more skilled than the other, when Loma also has a ton of natural ability that allows him to be able to do what he is able to do. His dad can't just pick up any chump off the street and train them to become another Loma, no matter how skilled they are. This is and extremely difficult thing to measure.

One thing we can gauge however is Pac did it against much better opposition, which is at least a fair way to gauge how great a boxer is, and how skilled they are, and as of right now Pac's opposition>>>>>>>Loma's oppostion.

    Lastly
"He just beat the LW champ who is naturally much bigger than him, a better athlete, and VERY highly skilled himself who has only lost in the past because of durability issues. That's unbelievable"

Here you are cherry picking certain aspects once again to push your own agenda. My fav fighter is Hitman Hearns, his career shits all over Linares, and guess what? He had durability issue too and he didn't lose to chumps like Linares did. He fought before and after they changed the same day weigh in rule, and went all the way up to cruiser. Linares is big for his division, who has he beaten? He has the size to fight WW, can he take the best in WW? He should be able to since you did say he is VERY highly skilled.

Every fighter has strength and weaknesses, not just Linares. You can't pick and choose specific ones to elevate your fighter just like Canelo fans can't say he'd clearly beat GGG if he had a better gas tank. Linares was a good to great win, that's it. Loma is elite, but Loma has no wins against elite opposition him that put's him at the status you're making him out to be, unless you bring up Rigo, which is another can of worms altogether.
