How can anyone watch this and argue in good faith that 1. Salido should not have been DQ'd 2. That he should not at the very least have incurred multiple deductions for all those low blows 3. That you should count them all as legal scoring shots and you have to in order for Salido to win because Loma outlanded him by 24 shots. 24 legal shots compared to over a third of Salido's total punch connects being illegal 4. And that it's not shady as hell the most corrupt sack of **** ref in the game allowed Salido to get away with it all night long even though loads of the low blows were flagrant as hell and thrown in full view of him. The HBO commentary team were incredulous at what they were seeing from both Salido and Cole. Just one point deduction and the fight would've been a draw Not to mention Salido deliberately missed weight by 2.5 pounds so he could blow way back up 19lbs and weighed two divisions more than Loma (11lbs) This content is protected This content is protected Lampley: ''Another low blow from Salido! Right on the hip'' Kellerman: ''And another one!'' Kellerman and Lampley simultaneously: ''And another one!'' Roy: ''Right in Cole's face'' Kellerman: ''Right in Cole's face. Three in a row right in Cole's face'' Lampley: ''And all of those were on the side where Cole was standing'' Cole was standing a few feet away and he couldn't have had a better view of them Don't believe me? Nonsense. Go and get your eyes tested and get your boxing knowledge tested. Either that or just keep it at casual armchair fan status.
It's only the Ukrainians that have 4 times more fights than documented... Loma will be remembered as a top amateur and a very good, but not great pro. In a way, that is enough. Only that he has more pro fights than Loma ever in total - both amateur and pro. Ray's losses equal the total number of pro fights of Loma. That's very a bad comparison.
Loma is mid thirties now, he's past prime. It's the same old story where lauded performances against him now by young 'new hopes' conveniently ignore that in every other speed-based sport he'd be considered over the hill. In tennis, if a champion is still around at 35, any big wins from then on are just bonuses, they don't expect to dominate like they used to and are preparing for retirement. 'No excuses, doe,' from the low-IQ brigade. It's just like how Kovalev and Golovkin suddenly became 'overrated' when they started losing their dominance in their mid-30s. No, they just got older. And it is precisely BECAUSE they were older that fighters like Ward, Canelo (Saunders if he could have) waited to fight them until the signs of decline were there. Then people pretend they were exposed. It's just laughable. Boxers are cowards all the time and run from the dangerous fighters until they feel the heat has come off them. It happens over and over and people still can't work it out because they think if someone 'laces them up' they must be brave. These fighters love bullying lower competition but are commonly terrified of the killers in their division, it's obvious, and duck the hell out of them.
Number of world champions the current P4P top 10 have fought Loma = 12 in 20 fights Clenelo = 20 in 63 fights (I think it's 20) Inoue = 9 in 24 fights Twink = 9 in 29 fights << pure smoke & mirrors Crawford = 9 in 39 fights Spence = 7 in 28 fights Usyk = 6 in 20 fights Josh Taylor = 5 in 19 fights Bivol = 4 in 21 fights Jermello = 4 in 37 fights Number of world title fights Loma = 16 in 20 fights all on the road Clenelo = 23 in 63 fights most in Vegas Inoue = 19 in 24 fights 3 on the road Crawford = 17 in 39 fights 1 on the road Bivol = 10 in 21 fights 9 on the road Usyk = 9 in 20 fights all on the road Jermello = 9 in 37 fights none on the road Spence = 7 in 28 fights 1 on the road Taylor = 6 in 19 fights 1 on the road Twink = 12 in 29 fights all bar one at home To add some more perspective Number of world champions some other current champions have fought Haney in = 5 in 29 fights GGG = 7 in 45 fights Beterbiev = 4 in 19 fights Rougarou = 4 in 29 fights Jermallo = 3 in 32 fights Fury = 3 in 34 fights Wilder = 3 in 46 fights Cordina = 2 in 16 fights Shakur in 2 in 20 fights Boo Boo = 0 in 32 fights *I'm only doing ones I'm pretty familiar with and I don't follow the leprechaun divisions closely* And when you factor in size as in the number you've fought your size, bigger or way bigger, number of prime champs you've fought, number of punchers fought your size, bigger or much bigger it gets much much for Loma and worse or a lot worse for many of the others Half of the 12 world champions Loma has fought were world champions at 135 ie. his third and weakest weight and are all much/way bigger, heavier, and much longer than him for the most part and were in their primes Many of the world champions others on those lists have fought were past their prime, shot, champions at lower weights than they fought them at or dragged up in weight 12 world champions fought in 20 fights in crazy and so is 16 of all your fights being world title fights. Most champions don't have anywhere near that many, let alone spanning three weights and Loma should only have 1 loss in those 16 world title fights against those 12 world champions And don't forget he didn't even turn pro till he was 25 and a half Floyd fought a ton of world title fights, turned pro at 19, won his first world title at 21, but even then the total number of title fights he fought in 50 fights is 26. Again, 16 world title fights is a lot but it's an insane amount for only 20 total fights Another example Andre Ward = 6 world champions fought and 9 world title fights in 32 fights
Well when you factor into hes been fighting world class opposition since he turned professional. And has good wins over the likes of Rigondeaux, Martinez, Walters, Russell, Linares etc. And also the fact hes a 3 weight world champion, then no it's not a bad record your just looking at the stats without context. And 2 of those losses were highly controversial one vs Salido in which he got cheated by Salido coming in as a Welterweight, and a corrupt referee allowing Salido to low blow Lomachenko 100 times. And then obviously Haney fight which alot of people thought Lomachenko won. Overall give me a fighter like Lomachenko who's willing to step up and take risks, rather than sitting on a padded undefeated record unwilling to risk losing that 0.
He’s the greatest fighter of his generation. Being a champion and top fighter 2 classes above his weight. Fastest to 3 division champ. 396-1 which cannot be argued with.
