The number 396-1 has been used on his twitter page but I'm not sure if that's official. Everywhere else in the media; in the Ukraine and in the west it's usually said "over 300 fights with only 1 loss" so the 396-1 is likely to be close to the mark at the least.

On ESB you're hype if you win two olympic golds and world championships but you're the real deal/Mayweather's heir apparent if you escape with a close decision against PDL and a win against Gavin Rees. Right

Pros and amateurs are different. I don't follow the amateurs so I really can't say.

Golovkin is the most overhyped pro boxer today. Although I do think he's really good, he hasn't done anything to warrant the praise.

Very exciting. Under amateur conditions, Lomachenko beat him twice in world championships, I hope it fares the same way again.

I don't know why people are so reserved about his actual ability? Is it because he wasn't around in the 90's or something? lol

Me too. I wish there was a way I could watch it on tv, but I'm sure it'll be on YouTube soon enough...

...anyway, Lomachenko is well deserving of all the wide eyed anticipation, as his talent level is remarkable, but, at least on esb, the hype is starting to get out of hand, with the comparisons and hypothetical matchups vs seasoned pros, and whatnot...

You can watch it live on youtube, if you go the world series boxing profile it should tell you what time it's on in your region.

Ask again in a week, as there will be a major change either way.

Either his lifetime # of losses will have doubled, or he'll be able to say he's gotten the best of every man he's shared the ring with (since he and Selimov are deadlocked already, with the chance for one to move ahead to 2-1 h2h in Saturday's rubber match)

Over hyped, probably but he is one of the greatest amatuers ever. This current crop of amateur will have a lot of good world champions i will bet on that and Lomachenko will be on top.
