    I explain:
Lucian Bute is ranked 1st in the category of super-middleweight by The Ring, 2nd by BoxRec and 9th pound 4 pound by BoxRec
and many people talk about him on boxing sites and boxing media blablabla etc
but when I look at his record on BoxRec http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=223046&cat=boxer
I see that his best victims are Bika and Andrade (2x) but still they are not part of the elite
Moreover, they are never been champions neither one nor the other and I do not think it will happen except maybe if Andrade jerks himself off against a weak champion like Robert Stieglitz
regarding his supposed hands high speed, I think it's over-rated.hey it's easy to say that a boxer is very fast when he is boxing against tough guys and/or big hitters rotten technically like Bika,Berrio,Andrade,Zuniga and soon Edison Miranda
don't start throwing rocks at me
i only give my opinion and I think my arguments are realistic
and sorry for my english but i did my best :)

He's young and undefeated he'll always get a certain hype from that. You have a point that Bute does look really fast in comparison to Miranda or Andrade but let's see what he does against Miranda. I may become one of his fans but I have to see more fights from his I only saw the Andrade fights.

He does possess world class excellent abilities and pound for pound skill but has yet to showcase them against a top boxer, because for the moment he is only fighting sluggers.

firstly ignore the boxrec rankings, they dont mean anything

secondly, he is probably top 5 but its hard to know where since hes not in the super 6, i suggest he cant be no.1 until he fights the winner of the super 6, especially since his level of competition is inferior to some of them

out of all the top fighters at super middle i do think bute has the makings of being undisputed for quite some time, he has 'calzagh-esque' moments.

fights with abraham and froch would be very interesing to see how bute deals with them.

I also think he's a little overrated. Ward's best win is better than anything Bute has done. His resume is about equal to Kessler but without the defeats.

I think he's top 3 at 168 with Ward and Abraham, but not number 1.

I really don't get where the awe comes from on Bute, he has fought B level competition at best and even though he hast talent until we see it against someone who is elite at 168 I can't call him the best at 168, personally I would like to see him and the Dawson/Pascal winner slug it out.

Haha! You finally found google translation.

Raptor has been banned at least 12 times on a french forum for his childish attitude towards Bute. He's his number one hater and a troll. At least, he chose to translate his best thread.

You can put Bute, Ward or Abraham first, second and third, that's ok with me. But to say that Bute has beaten nobody is not correct. Andrade is not only a tough guy. He's a tough guy who has beaten every opponent except the elite. He's still in the top 8 of the division, even after his two losses. He's not a journeyman or a bum. As for Bika, he's also still in the top ten. That makes a top ten win against 2 guys. That's better than anyone in the division for the moment. If Ward stays unbeaten, he will earn the number one spot but he has one single excellent win. Abraham has one fight in the division. Froch was not impressive in his last two fights.

As for the handspeed, you should not look at boxrec. Watch fights instead. That's better if you want to see speed. :D

he obviously has the tools but i agree that he is still an unknown quantity against elite comp. andrade is a tough tough man but his style of coming forward and blocking shots w/ his face should have played right into bute's hands and it did in the second fight.

but he does have some bad habits including leaving his hands low but no one of yet has been able to take advantage of it. he should beat miranda soundly but edison will always have a punchers chance and one big haymaker could really make this an interesting fight.

i am impressed with how bute has gone to the body. he took out two tough fighters w/ body shots. he's quick and powerful but did show some stamina issues in the first andrade fight.

overrated?? nah. but he is an unknown quantity against elite comp. i think most people see this.

I think he is the best or atleast top 3. I think Andre Ward is over rated.

he's top five without question, but #1?? not even. he ranks higher than green and dirrell, but the rest have accomplished much more.
