Is Lucian Bute over-rated?

Abraham and Ward have the better wins.
But there is no reason why Bute does not deserve to be considered as good as these two. He has beaten everyone put in front of him and there have been some top guys.

What's Green's best win? Fat Tarvis Simms who took the fight on a week's notice and still held his own? Or never-was Jaidon Codrington?

Bute's beaten 4 guys in the top 10. Green has beaten none.

 

I think he's a little overrated, especially on this forum. I don't agree with Ring or whoever rating him at #1 - as far as I'm concerned that's Ward. He beat the man and he became the man.

I read a lot of posts on here criticising Kessler, saying his best win was over Andrade who's nothing but a "punching bag". Bute beats him and suddenly he's the second coming.

Bute is a very good fighter but his resume is pretty thin. He should only get to the top of the division by, at a minimum, beating the Super 6 winner. He should beat Miranda handily but that shouldn't move him above Ward or Froch.

 

Who did Kessler beat to become "the man"?

There is no "the man" at 168.
