He still ahs some proving to do, but Andre Ward is the best.

 

You could just stop starting threads asking if he's number one. I mean, that's about the 20th thread on the subject, abd not a single one has been started by a Bute fan. Mostly because we know he still has to beat the top.

 

He arguably has a better resume than Ward that's the only reason why he's ranked as the top SMW. Ward's resume will improve greatly with each fight, if you're talking about the best SMW based solely on skills Ward is the best SMW in the world, followed by Bute or Dirrell. I would love to see a Bute Dirrell fight, hopefully Dirrell comes out of retirement within a year.

With all due respect to Bute, I do think he's overrated.

Ward, in my opinion, is the best at 168. And he'll prove it when he wins the competition and faces Bute.
