I think he is the boxer with the best technical skills out there.

One thing is for sure...it's still an unknown factor amongst many ESB people. If he doesn't have the best technical skills...he sure rates higher than Mundine, Miranda, Froch, Pascal, Andrade and Taylor...just to name these fighters.

Since when is Taylor a SMW? Or a technician for that matter...

Taylor is on his way to it next fight.....and the previous answer was in regards to Bute being a better overall technical fighter than Taylor and others mentionned.....not if Taylor is a technician or not !

Well clearly that wasn't intended to be a list of master technicians, I understand that. :yep I'm just curious why you threw Taylor's name in there as he's never had a single fight at the weight, so what does that prove exactly that Bute is a better technician than a not-very-technical middleweight? Seems kind of random to throw out there is all..

I would presume having a grasp of orthodox technique and a control over movement and footwork?

Technically, Taylor's last fight was at Super Middleweight.

    They both weighed 164lbs.

Technically, that's a catchweight dead in the middle between MW and SMW, and even more technically that was a contract stipulation, not a sanctioned fight in the weight division (none of the orgs, nor boxrec has either guy ranked as a SMW).

He's a southpaw so i assuming you mean good technique of that stance?

When someone talks of good technique it makes me think they have got the basics down-pat fight. These type of fighters like Wlad, Kessler, Cotto who have great technique usually meet their maker somewhere down the track. Kessler i would prob rate higher than Bute.

I think Kessler is the best technician at 168lbs.

I tihnk he is aswell, Bute seems like a good technician aswell. From what i've seen of him in the ring he seems more calculating than instinctive, am i right?
