In the opening bell while khan tries to touch gloves he throws a hayemaker at khan after the end of the fight he refuses to ackwloledge khan, and when asked about a rematch says he'll fight whoever and walks away from the interview:rofl back in the changing rooms when khan sits down to take a photo with him he has that stern look of discontent on his face.
he did the same thing for the 11th round i believe. he didn't follow the norm for sportsmanship but there is no rule of "touch gloves when your opponent reaches out to you". i wouldn't look too deep into it.
Maidana is a card carrying bad ass who doesnt have to answer to anyone. Unless that someone asking him something is also a card carrying bad ass such as antonio margarito or Driver (the rocks character in the movie faster)!!
He's all business. You could call it being a 'dick', but you don't get very far in the fight game without having at least a little sterness in you. The elbow was malicious but apart from that I thought anything he did was within the norm.
The Argentina flag his team had at the begining said (in Spanish) 'The Falklands are Anrgentina's' or something like that. I think he made it an Argentina-UK beef and as a result it was a bit of a grudge match.
Meh, for me Khan shouldn't have come out in the first looking to touch gloves. That shows your nerves (so I believe), and Maidana sought to test those nerves. Nothing wrong with that, if anything the fault is on Khan's part.
An inconsistent bad ass. He was up for this fight though argentinians hate the brits so much. No doubt they made it a falklands war pride thing in their media.
