Gatti? He wasn't rolling on the canvas exactly, but he was horribly affected.

A journalist, can't remember which, was talking about how he was sitting next to Gatti, if I remember correctly, during the BHOP/ODLH fight. When the body shot KD happened and the fight was over, he asked Gatti how he recovered from the same shot with Ward and Gatti laughed and said "I'm just crazy I guess." Probably pretty accurate.

Maidana must have those wild genetics too then. No way these guys should be getting up from these bodyshots. Unless they were thrown with the same technique and ferocity as that of SNV... (your SNV bodypunching video is ****ing magnificent!!) :good

I was watching the fight with my father and he noticed the exact same thing. Khan never went to the body again after that round.

Thanks, mate. McCallum always said the only man that snatched that body better than himself was the Sugar Man himself. :hey I've done another one just to try and explain how technically freakish Sugar is. It died in the Classic forum pretty quickly when I started a thread for it. ...Anti-Russite sentiment, most likely as the cause. :-(

Some great body work in there too. (Ask Beck's liver!)

    Foreman's Hoooooook! :hat

Edit: I mean Boxed Eeeeeears! :thumbsup

  6. Going off topic for a moment... in what rounds was Khan showboating Pac style?

Yeah, I can't think of another one. This was a fight ending liver shot.

Maidana lowered his guard to protect the body so Khan went for the flashy head shots.

can you even stop a body shot being so bad apart from conditioning.

i mean like if u just see a body shot coming and tense up and brace for it does it lessen the blow?
or does it need to be simply a mental mindset of "you just cant hurt me moth*****er" so u lie to your brain which lies to your body and somehow makes u withstand otherwise KO shots?.

thts wht i think miadana did,he was so tough anyways with natural toughness and conditioning, and he told him self **** get the feck up tht shot wasnt tht bad carry on marcus!.

  11. Cortez saved Maidana's ass. Maidana got up, held his facial expression and pain in, but when Cortez lowered his gloves, he winced big time. Fight should have stopped.

you realize refs take into account whether he believes the fighter will be able to stage a comeback or not

he got dropped harder against Ortiz

Great statement. I love how ESBers tend to think our respect should mean anything to fighters. DLH has done more manly stuff in his career than most of us have in our dreams. So has anyone else who is discussed on ESB. There's a reason they're topics of discussion on a boxing forum and we're the ones discussing them.

Yeah, I glazed right over that immensely stupid, ignorant, ridiculous comment from the TS.

  15. Of course. But Maidana grimaced and bent over after Cortez checked to see if he could continue. Compare that to a shaky Hernandez and you've got Berto being the most coddled and protected fighter on the planet.
