B level fighter with -A power C level technique and B level heart and -B chin reminds me of a slightly more successful Edison Miranda

Close fight - If he was that good, it should have finished inside 8, the only comparison fights there are, Maidana came in Flabby (not to take anything away from Mathysse), Doesn't give an accurate reflection of power of Maidana's power, more of a reflection of his work ethic. Judah isn't the most durable of fighters.

I do think Mathysse would carry his power more to 147.

I believe Maidana is just generally over rated in most areas TBH , yes his power is over rated , but he is also over rated as a puncher too , he doesn't pack enough to be rated as a " puncher " IMHO , the fact he's limited in the other area's depicts him as a puncher , but when your a puncher are you not supposed to be able to punch ?? with extreme power ........

He is a tough determined kid that much i will give him , but he doesn't have this mythical ferocious power people keep talking about and he doesn't have nearly enough ring craft to land his power shots , therefore one nullifies the other , summary = over rated

Yeah, I think so. He only had at one time 30 KOs in 32 wins. A very poor KO rate, right?

That isn't really a valid argument.

Having a high stoppage percentage doesn't necessarily mean having a lot of 1-punch KO power. Look at Vitali Klitschko.

He couldn't KO the best guys he fought, aside from Ortiz, who soft anyway.

His power is definitely overrated. He couldn't even manage to get rid of Khan or shot EM.

    He also didn't KO Ortiz.

    Victor quit.

He is heavy handed, he breaks his opponent down with thudding shots. I don't see him as a one punch KO power and I believe his lack of technique and speed prevents him form doing so.

He is a heavy hitter tho. I mean his KO percentage speaks for itself. I bet he is the type of fighter where even if you block his punches you will still feel it.

If not a KO rate, then what should be right the indicator of power? Look at Malignaggi, do you think his power is underrated?

Do you think Victor would quit if he did not feel the power of Maidana?

Ortiz was on the verge of being stopped by teh ref or getting Knocked out anyway, last 2 rounds were all maidana.

I look forward to all Maidana fights but he is overrated slightly, hell i though he would beat Khan and Devon though he was a bit unlucky vs Khan.

I think that if it had been Matthysse in there on the night, Victor wouldn't have the option of quitting after feeling his power because he'd be unconscious.

khan's chin is underrated, vs garcia he got on the neck around the ear, granite chinned fighters such as hopkins and kessler went down from simple shots, around the same area. lot of arguments stating maidana's power to be overrated are going off the fact he couldn't KO khan, khan hit him with a punch, few would have gotten up from, it was 10th round of a wa- khan slowed and reduced maidana's power by then

    Yep.

Khan nuetralised Maidana's power for atleast 4 rounds anyway with the discouraging and power draining bodyshot in the first.
