You know after fighters retire there stock goes up alot. If you rank pac that high now then you can be sure your mind will change 10+ years from now. Arent you a *******? I agree with you about being around the same level with Pac and Whittaker and IMO those guys just crack the top 10.

No way. He avoids the best fighters of his era. Even when they're in his same weight class. Top 12 fighters not only face the best in their era, they beat them. Pacquiao has yet to do that. All he does is fight people that Mayweather already beat and avoid the man himself. All of his recent opponents are coming off a loss. He is extremely overrated and he will be exposed if he ever comes off the juice and fights Mayweather.

Thanks for taking the time to give your list. Okay let's take someone like Charley Burley. What truly great fighters has he beaten? Archie Moore. That is the only ATG on his resume. He beat Cocoa kid, then again he did lose almost one in 3 fights many of whom were nobodies. How you have him in there is absolutely beyond me. You think that resume beats someone who went up 7 weight divisions beating ATG Barrera, De La Hoya (faded but considering the size difference its still an achievement) future hall of famers Marquez twice, Hatton and Cotto. And top 5 rated welter weight Clottey.

You strike me as one of these boxing fans who just romanticises the old boxers and buys into the whole "don't make em like they used to" notion.
Even of the recent boxers in your list, Pac's just about trumps Whitaker's. The one truly great fighter Whitaker took on he couldn't beat and you also have to take into account that Whitaker stayed within his weight comfort zone unlike Pac.

Not much anymore, I still want the guy to win but this Clottey fight did nothing for me. I just wasnt feeling it. It was amateur night even for the HBO crew.

Speaking of the rankings, thats not true all the time..RJJ has been slipping lately, McCallum never got the second look to notch him higher. Duran in my opinion is the highest leaper in terms retrospect, besides him most are moving backwards in the list. A fighter like Hagler, damn hes relatively forgotten now.

    No ****in way.
    Not even close.
Pac and Roach are nothing but big mouth cherry pickers.
All they have to do is fight Floyd.
All they had to do is agree to the drug testing which was long overdue for the sport.
Floyd agreed to all of their demands.
They are ****ing cowards and are milking the sport of all they can get and minimizing their risks.
Last nite was one bad fight.
    Totally not impressed.

Well Jones isnt doing himself any favors by getting KTFOD on a regular basis. Leaves many people wondering if he always had a glass jaw.
Mccallum is ranked accordingly great fighter but not in the elite sense. (Meaning top 25) id put him around 70 to 80 on my atg list a fair ranking. Duran has always been highly regarded even when he was still fighting he was considered the greatest LW of all time.
One guy whos stock has seemed to dip slightly is Chavez especially by some of the newbie boxing fans who really underrate him.

Pernells stock has risen dramatically since his retirement and he is way more popular now than back then. I remember many thought he was boring and Couldnt break an egg although everyone acknowledged his Great boxing ability. Most fans think of fighters from the past as better and 20 years from Now people are gonna be talking about how special Manny,Mayweather etc etc were and The Joe Schmo 2030 couldnt hold there jock strap. Its always been like that .

whats the criteria? whats the standard? i know alot of ppl who would name duran a top 12, but not pac....or they'll name someone else who hasnt accomplished as much as pac and still not put pac ahead of that person(s). so their has to be a criteria, or else this is all based on peoples' bias opinions. which is fine, but then lets call it that.

Pacquiao has some great wins the past few years- but there's at least a good 20-25 boxers currently higher than him. The problem is, especially ranking him against fighters from 30's-60's, they boxed at a much more frequent pace. This is what shoots their statistics (SRR, Moore Langford, Duran, Greb, Pep, etc,) into another stratosphere. If he beats say Mosley, Mayweather and possibly someone with an ABC belt at Jr. Middle, than he'll crack the top 20 for me. I liked the list that was previously posted, but i think pac has definitely leaped over RJJ in ATG status and maybe a few others.....

Something tells me that had Roy hanged it up after the Tarver KO he would have still slipped by merely scrutinizing his resume. Pernell stock rose due partly to Floyd because you can make the comparison (esp defensively)and Pea fans will say, you aint never seen Pea, Floyd couldnt touch the original and Pea was better offensively (which is not entirely true)

DLH was one of those whose rankings whod have gone thru the roof had he called it quits 5 years ago but hes going in reverse right now. Soemone like Mab might get booted out but someone like Erik who beat Pac might be revered later on as the one who slayed the dragon. Theres so much ****in intangibles. W Benitz for example keeps slipping when in the contrary the man should be rejoiced (what a talent!). Sanchez too high for dying early while a guy like Chavez like you say is overlooked like Hagler. Theres so many factors.
