Is Manny Pacquiao a top 20 Atg

For anyone that cares, the Sasakul/Arbachakov fights (both of them) are now up on Youtube. Highly skilled technical chess match the first bout was, though by the second bout Yuri was clearly at the end of his ropes (he had already started to slide by the first bout really) and was outboxed soundly.

 

Tito and Roy´s records speak for themselves and Pac´s doesnt?

Pac fought nobodies? how about Roy fighting police officers and garbage man,have you forgot about Richard Frazier,Glenn Kelly,derryck Harmon,Fermin Chirino,Brannon,Byrd,Lucas,Pazienza etc.

 

Take away that nostalgia or that myth surrounding older fighters, Pac is easily up there in the ranks of the other greats. He's clearly got a better resume than Jack Johnson or Jack Dempsey, who are top 20 in a lot of lists. He has 6 wins over 4 ATG's in his resume and won 6 titles across 10 divisions, no matter how you downplay that, history will remember that kindly.

I mentioned Duran earlier as a comparison, great great fighter, one of my favourites...but analyse his resume carefully and compare it to Pac. He has 1 big win, SRL and thats it. You can bring up Davey Moore, Ken Buchanan, Jesus, Barkley, but those guys are rated no higher than the likes of JMM, MAB, Morales & Hatton. Duran is definitely greater, but just because he's an older fighter, the thought of him being compared to a current fighters is laughable.

Marvin Hagler is another example...his resume is very similar to that of Hopkins although i rate his higher. Most would rate Pac's resume above Hopkins, certainly MAB, Morales, JMM, Hatton, DLH, Sasakul, Ledwaba & Larios are comparable to Hearns, Duran, Minter, Autofermo, Mugabi. You can say DLH was shot, well MW wasnt exactly Duran's or Hearns prime weight either. Nobody would laugh for rnaking Hagler top 20...though he's top 40 in most peoples lists.

Of course you get the usual bullshitters here, ie fitzgerald, jeff m, uliuli, nallege.

Seriously, Roy has arguably the most natural talent of any fighter in the last 20 years, Pac isnt far behind as far as Natural talent is concerned but Pac has that something special, the man has a heart of a lion
