Absolutely. If he becomes the first man to beat Hatton at 140 that will put him up another 12 places at least.

top 50 fighters ever is a pretty lofty position. The last time I looked on the ring magazine list (which never seems accurate at all) Mike McCallum is near the 50 mark, so with that in mind where would Pacman go?

Yeah he is. Those best ever lists are so subjective, I am not sure we can ever have a an accurate one. Everyone has their era which they favor, and then in that era they have their favorite fighter. Sometimes I think people should rate the eras which did not get them into boxing, then they would be more objective. Anyone who is 60 years old is going to rate Ali as the best ever. Anyone 50 will say Duran and Monzon. Anyone my age (44)will rate Sugar Ray Leonard and Hagler and Hearns as the best. People 30 will rate Roy Jones Jr and Oscar as the best ever. And the guys now who are 19 years old will rate Pacman or Mayweather as the best. I personally think my era of Leonard/Hagler/Hearns is better than them all.

These lists are hard to look at. They are pretty good lists but hard to accept them. We all have our favorites. I find it hard to see LaMotta ahead of Hagler.
