I think Oscar will ko Pacquiao silly, but it won't detract from his past achievements one bit.Pac will be higher than DLH on the past and present p4p rankings regardless of the outcome of that fight.
no he is not a top 50. Monte Cox wrote an article for ESB on who the top 50 of all time are. I have some disagreements with the list but here is his top 50. 1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Muhammad Al 3. Harry Greb 4. Henry Armstrong 5. Joe Louis 6. Willie Pep 7. Roberto Duran 8. Benny Leonard 9. Sam Langford 10. Jack Johnson 11. Jack Dempsey 12. Joe Gans 13. Sugar Ray Leonard 14. Gene Tunney 15. Bob Fitzsimmons 16. Jimmy Wilde 17. Ezzard Charles 18. Mickey Walker 19. Archie Moore 20. Stanley Ketchel 21. George Foreman 22. Tony Canzoneri 23. Barney Ross 24. Jimmy McLarnin 25. Julio Cesar Chavez 26. Marcel Cerdan 27. Rocky Marciano 28. Joe Frazier 29. Sandy Saddler 30. Terry McGovern 31. Billy Conn 32. Carlos Monzon 33. Jose Napoles 34. Emile Griffith 35. Marvin Hagler 36. Eder Jofre 37. Thomas Hearns 38. Larry Holmes 39. Ruben Olivares 40. Evander Holyfield 41. Ted "Kid" Lewis 42. Alexis Arguello 43. Pernell Whitaker 44. Roy Jones Jr. 45. Bernard Hopkins 46. Mike Tyson 47. Barbados Joe Walcott 48. George Dixon 49. Mike Spinks 50. Salvador Sanchez Manny is not better than anyone on this list. he is in the top 65-70 range for me..... he has a lot of work to do to make the top 50.
So is Floyd Mayweather better than Sugar Ray Robinson? Robinson won titles in two weight classes whereas Floyd has won titles in 5. And Oscar must be above Floyd as well, considering he's won titles in 6. There's a lot more to judging ATG status than paper titles. Level of competition is the most important factor, along with skill level and ability of course. Harada holds both edges clearly over Pacquiao IMO.
He is in the top 3, yes. When it's all said and done, we'll see where he ranks. As of now, I have Harada clearly ahead of him. Based on accomplishments, he'd be second to Harada, but when taking other factors into account, such as skill level/ability and whatnot, you have a case for a lot of other fighters.
awful list. Most of How the **** are Tyson and Spinks in ahead of Mayweather,Lennox and Pacquiao. That list was done in May 2007 he was correcting a list that had Barerra,Lamotta,Mayweather,De La Hoya and Morales on it.Pacquiao has had three big wins since this was done.
Spinks could be argued over Mayweather and Pacquiao IMO, unless you're another one who rates titles at different weights (regardless of opposition) over actual level of competition beaten.
I don't want to critisize pacquiao because i have to hand it to him for taking the best fights, but i can't see how anyone has him in their top 50 He lost a close decsion against a past peak morales He beat a shot morales twice He beat a Barrera that was not physically ready for the fight as his gym got burnt down and he was only able to do 50 rounds of sparring when he usually does around to 250. I personally believe he lost both fights against marquez. so when i look at it he has done great so far, but for me he needs to achieve more to become a top 50 atg.
