Sure, we're talking about right now. The last 6 months Canelo has left Bud in the dust. And Loma fell out of P4P after the loss to Lopez.

Neither Mayweather or Pacquiao were ever the far and away clear P4P #1 like Canelo is now. The level of domination that Canelo has dispatched his recent opponents has never been realized by Mayweather or Pacquiao. Even after Pac was KTFO and Mayweather was P4P #1, he wasn't dominating people like Canelo was to where there's such a gap between #1 and #2 like there is now. Remember many people saw Floyd slipping, thought he lost to Maidana, then he retired the next year.
Of course there's contenders but none have failed to impress to the extent that Canelo has. The gap is large between Canelo and everyone else at the moment. Who's #2? I guess it's between Bud, Spence and Inoue at this point.
And he passed that test. He beat GGG and beat him up good the 2nd time.
I think you would have to favor Canelo at this point. Ward has been out of the ring for nearly 4 years now. Ward was P4P #1 when he retired. So it would be 2021 P4P #1 vs 2017 P4P #1. We don't know what kind of shape Ward is in or if he would consider coming back. But I think everyone would want to see how Ward would do against Canelo. It's a Dream Fight.

Pacquaio fanboys have no gag reflex. The fanboys are going deep on Pacquaio.

The excuses are already being spun... he is old, he is inactive, he came back from a KO.

    EMBARRASSING

    errr no.

The only reason Pac/Floyd was never the definitive no.1 was because they were competing with each other, but during their time, they were FAR and away the p4p 1a and 1b with no p4p competition even close and no competition even close to beat them.

In 2005 Floyd was 1 with winky second and MAB 3rd. Floyd was clear 1.

2006 Floyd was 1 and Pac 2, winky was 3rd. Winky wasn’t even close in that race.

2007 Floyd was 1 and Pac 2nd, JMM 3rd. Again both Pac and Floyd far and away and nobody would have argued a case for JMM being higher p4p than either guy.

2008-2011 Pac was 1 and Floyd was 2 and 3rd was shuffling between Mosley, Martinez, JMM - none of which was even close to Floyd/Pac which is why they were shuffling but 1 and 2 remained intact.

And no, many experts would argue that Crawford may still be the best fighter p4p. Heck I would argue that it might be Usyk, Inoue, Loma still. Canelo hasn’t really pulled away, don’t see how he has? Has he dominated A level fighters to prove he’s an A++ atg level fighter as Floyd and Pac are?

Not hating on Canelo but he’s still largely unproven as an A+ guy. He’s fought one A+ guy and he got washed despite his size advantage. He fought an A level guy and many think he lost. He has a lot of close fights with B-C level guys. And his best clear wins are over B-C level guys or a shot Kovalev.

everyone is unproven atm, including Loma, Inoue, Crawford, Usyk. I mean unproven as an absolute elite far and away from the rest.

Floyd took on A+-C level guys and dominated most of them, went unbeaten. That’s proven. Pac went on one of the best runs in boxing history of fighting A-C level guys and just destroying them, all the way from MAB to Margarito and even Bradley.

    Different class.

    Pac is old.

    Pac has been inactive.

    Pac has been KO'd.

How are these excuses when they are very likely going to be the reasons why Spence wins?

And why are you ducking my bet?

May/Pac should have been made a No Contest & stricken from the records due to Mayweather cheating with IV gate

    Yes,
Only thing that will top that is Pac
Beating him & fighting Crawford next

or Floyd Mayweather giving a rematch to Canelo & fighting him at 160lb.

    that would be pretty G.

Don't erase the fact that they were older than Pac. Plus Pac been fighting at welter longer than Spence and fighting welters that are just as big as Spence. Pac can hold his own but he is not the oldest fighter to fight and win a championship. Bottom line.

That is why I will always-ALWAYS-rate Qawi over Pacman. He dared to be great.
