Ok thanks for some info... But it still doesnt explain why there are so many brits here compared to americans... Yet UK posters claim boxing is not so big anymore? Every one knows Pac here, i would think it would be the same there.
Good list...I tend to agree. Notice how apart from Football and boxing...the sports mentioned are readily available on terrestrial. Boxing on terrestrial gains some good viewing figures. The last time it was on terrestrial was the Froch v Pascal fight was it not? What a fight, yet they abandoned it after that.
Not sure about everyone else. But the first site I used to visit for boxing news, etc...was boxingnews24. That site went downhill quickly, so I clicked on a link to this site. Boxingnews24 was second on the list on my google search, this may have been a factor. :huh
Actually it does, less of us have anyone to really converse with about boxing other than when is Hatton fighting Tyson? :-( So go on the internet looking for it.
Whats Snooker and Athletics:huh Over here id say 1.American Football 2.Basketball 3.Baseball 4.Hockey 5.Golf??? 6.UFC/Boxing/Tennis/Soccer about equal not sure on this order .. I hear more people talking about UFC than boxing(young) but Boxing has much higher PPV records.
I think the reason why there are so many Brits is because boxing obviously isnt dead but due to the outragious pricing of sky ppv and the removal from normal free tv fewer people can watch it so we all congregate here to get our fixes so to speak.
Thats it...........................Even in Eu, the tradition sports are so deferents. 2. Rugby - only GB and France - great great sport but...........?? 3. F1 - ...?? 4. cricket - only in GB 7. Snooker - only in GB The bigger sports in general are: cycling ice hockey handball
In the UK the most watched sports are football, Cricket, rugby, tennis, motor sport, athletics and probably then boxing. Edit: i forgot snooker which is high up the list.
Athletics like 100m, long jump, hurdles etc etc You know Usain Bolt? Snooker is like pool or 8 ball you might call it.
Yes i know Usain Bolt:yep Called Track &Field over here. And yes Pool is very popular to play but hardly gets any coverage on TV no one knows who the best pool players are and the coverage is probably once a week at 4am or something, but like i said earlier almost everyone here has played b4, i even know a lot of girls that are pretty good. Track and field is very popular participation wise.. Every high school and college has a team.. But it doesnt get much coverage on TV or a fan base, just in the olympics.
Cant speak for the rest of Europe but pretty much everyone knows Pac here in UK. Heard some drunk slut mention Pacquiao outside at a queue to a club last week...
Oh yeah i forgot NASCAR is pretty big with certain populations in the US lol. Overall im sure more viewers than Boxing.
