And then he went on to probably lose the II fight more so then the first one.

JG you are the man with wisdom of 10000 men but do you really think a fighter in the heat of the moment like Pac or any other legend/warrior is thinking about the blisters on his feet that are hurting? He's probably so in the moment he doesn't notice till after the fight. I've gotten blisters from sports, and if I ever used that excuse for why I didn't play well I'm pretty sure most the players would've laughed at me, or at least thought I was joking. It's just a bit lame.

I's lame, P, but it's what happened. Pac 2.0's a HELLUVA LOT BETTER...'n if he loses now, it won't be because of cheap socks.

For stating the obvious? ...How is it that Manny Pacquiao's bitching was justified when the second fight was even more competitive than the first?

As always thanks for your input John. Coming from someone who's actually met the man and spent time around him, your opinion is valued :good

Fair enough. We shall see though. I'm sure he has grown, but I can't imagine him giving props to the other fighter if that fighter was Mayweather that just won. Maybe for Mosley he would.

Imagine if one of the old time fighters gave an excuse like that though. "Sugar Ray beat me because I got the wrong socks... forget the eye, it was my socks," Carmine Basilio.

Might as well ignore the guy.

A lot of athletes are that way, but I think it might be in the Pacquaio's blood.

    "Blow blow."

Interviewer, "You don't think that was a low blow?"

*Replay of Bobby Pac clearly low-blowing his opponent.

Bobby Pac, "It was no blow blow."

He may be fairly humble but I'm sure he has an ego and a cocky side.

I mean come on, he plans victory concerts right after his fights!

He's one of the best athletes in the world, so really, do you expect him not to have some arrogance and ego?

I don't expect athletes to be especially humble nor do I really care.

If Money beats Pac, P, think he'll surprise you -- in spite of how Money's gotten under his skin -- 'n just say the better man won. Above all, Pac's still a guileless kid from General Santos City, 'n a sportsman.

Holyfield has made numerous excuses after losses/poor performances. Ailments always come up. After the third fight with Bowe, he just talked about being tired. Later on he said he caught Hepatitis from eating bad shellfish.

He claimed his performance in the first Lewis fight was hindered by leg cramps. He's said after the rematch with Lewis, "everyone knows I won that fight". He blamed his poor performance in the first Ruiz fight on a busted eardrum.

Pretty much... this is what I mean. This guy Addie, bill butcher, all those "unbiased" posters, have a clear agenda against Pac, look at their favorite fighters and you know why. They hide behind the word "*******" to gang up and basically take a "talk to the hand" posture if you are a pac fan. The PED thing was too good to pass for them.

Here we are bashing Manny again. and for what?
    This content is protected

and then later there will be another thread bashing floyd. for what? for not being sincerely egotistical?

This board is like a gossip mag sometimes and we all act like menopausal women with nothing but nostalgia about the stars of yesterday, and a bitter resentment of the stars we have now.

Bitching about other men bitching seems counter productive.

That would surprise me. I hope you're right, though (If that were to happen. I'd like Manny to give some props).

Did you see the end of Bowe vs Holyfield 3? Something looked seriously wrong with Evander and anyone with eyes could see that. After the first Lewis fight he drew. He said the judges made their decision and that's how they called the fight.

With Holyfield saying "He won" he was hyping the second fight. Not the same. Just compare the two guys post-fight conferences.

The difference is, if Evander makes a statement he doesn't just list out excuses. He says what might have gone wrong for him but he gives credit to the other fighter. A lot of the times he says the other man was just simply better.

And Holyfield won the first Ruiz fight? So what...

I don't see how you can compare the two. Holyfield went to war with Bowe and said he gave it his all and Bowe was just the better man. Pac when he loses cries, talks about gloves, cuts, and bad socks.

Maybe what they say about two wrongs isn't right, man. We don't know until the appropriate studies are done.

 If cheating on their wives is something that really puts them in the same boat, then that boat is gigantic. It's pretty much every highly famous athlete by their own admission or very public outing.
