In a way, he is humble where he doesn't trash talk his opponents to death nor does he make predictions about his upcoming bouts other than telling the fans that he always want to give them a good fight. As far as being humble in his private life, I don't know the man personally so I can't honestly comment on that one.
I have several friends and relatives who have met and spent some time with Manny as far back as the 90s. I have not heard one negative comment about the guy. He's as genuine as they come according to them. He came from very humble beginnings and has done a relatively good job of staying down to earth for someone of his status. Other than the supposed affairs, I haven't read anything else remotely negative about the guy either. Feel free to post some negative press/articles if you can find any.
Oh... i know where your **** thread is going! :yep i bet a bunch of *****s will jump in here and back you up! :yep manny is humble enough... does it matter? i don't really give a **** bout it as long as he gives us awesome fights.
i could never judge a man for something that iam not sure i wouldnt do, were mostly men here and i can say that just because you cheat with a woman does not mean you dont love your wife. us as men have something in our blood that just ticks for fresh meat. that being said your a hater and clearly irrational and delusional.
I think people forget that being humble is not just in talks but actions in real life. Sometimes what you see is not what you get. So its hard to judge, sometimes you think someone is humble until you ask those close to them. Maybe his close friends can tell, he has charisma though.
He's a nice guy and respectful, but in truth most elite fighters are probably well aware that they are the ****ing ****. Its just a matter of whether they flaunt that or throw some false modesty on it to be politically correct. The language barrier also probably makes him seem a little more sheepish and innocent than he really is. Either way he is a class act as far as i am concerned. I also don't care much about sportsmen's personal lives, particularly in relation to their sex lives. It annoys the hell out of me the way the media drills these guys just because they were born and raised with athleticism and drive, the role model **** the media yaps on about makes me want to vomit. Particularly when the media slur their name for off field shenanigans and it ends up being detrimental to their on field situation and ability to continue their profession at that level (the Australian media is always harassing rugby/football players over petty off field issues, normally permanently damaging their name, drives me mad).
On the other hand Ali was trash talking opponents but they say in real life the guy was humble. Sometimes we need the Ali's and Toney in the sport. We are different and i think its crucial we understand that.
This is nitpicking. How about you do tell us how humble is Manny. And tell us who's more humble than him aside from Mosley and Cotto.
IDK man...have you ever came across Bula?...That's about the most humble and civil poster on this board.
Ali said i am the worlds greatest and he sang to everyones ear, today we still sing the same song and believe it, was he humble then, No! do i think he is humble, absolutely.
If the majority of us determine that Manny is indeed as humble as advertised then this has actually just become a thread celebrating his character, which was at first questioning it.
