You are right, no question, he is one of the best. BUT, he is one of the best because of his physical aptitudes. Not for his ring iq, not for his technique, not for anything else. It's his physical aptitudes what makes him great. Hence, IF he has used any kind of peds..... he is average. IF not, he is one of the greatest.

I dont believe in 1200 punches a fight at welter without peds, sorry.:huh

Edit: at least not when the punches in the 12th have the power pacman's had.

Pacquiao didn't have a lot of skill. But he did beat Barrera badly. He managed to go life and death with Morales and Marquez.

    That takes a good boxer.

So how was he doing it if he sucked?

It's true that manny's success comes from overwhelming the opponent at mid-range, springing in and getting the hell out before they can react, it's why he did so poorly against Mayweather, he couldn't adjust and he had no speed advantage and his power couldn't inflict anything because he couldn't catch him, once or twice he did but Floyd is so intelligent in there he couldn't build anything off the fleeting successes. So you can say Manny is a very raw, physical fighter yet he is still successful past his peak for the most part. He's good enough to give Marquez hell each time, which is no easy task. He beat Bradley twice, Barrera and Morales, with 1 being a very close fight. Boxing has many different interactions and recipe for success. Look at Hopkins, completely steamrolled by the Krusher, I know he was older but it was an impressive performance by the more primal operator. Maidana against Floyd was a very close fight too.

Physical attributes matter. If they didn't Pacquiao would have been a nobody.

From 122-130 which was Pacquiaos peak he always had the advantages.

He never fought anybody with more power, speed or stamina than himself. So he just overwhelmed people because he could.

Its true that Pac had good physical attributes.

What's your point? Somebody has to the have best attributes.

I'm just stating that he is ATG as long as he had not used peds at any time. For instance, you can say that roy jones was the hell of a fighter with or without peds. With manny you cannot say so. That's the only thing I say. ATG, sure, pysical boxing is as legit as any other style of boxing.

Why not? Margarito managed 1,600 and I don't think bricks in your gloves help your stamina.

Because 1200 use to be the record of the year in boxrec, and it is achieved in lower weights. I dont think margarito nor any other fighter can make 1600 even in peds, but anyway, I you say so, I believe you.

Edit: lol, you were kidding isn't it? my fault :!:

This is ridiculous. People are saying Pacquiaos too physical it's not fair.

What do you want? To make sure if you're stamina or speed is too high you can't fight?

Nobody is saying so. I say that his physical contitions are the most important part of his boxing, not his technique, not his ring iq, not his strategies, not anything else. And that's true, and that's fine, ofc.

I agree with you. His physical ability is what makes him great. It annoys me when people say Pacquiaos not truly great because he lacks skill.

You don't need skill to be great.

Throwing hard and fast punches non stop works too.

    1,675 punches thrown vs Clottey.

https://books.google.com/books?id=y...nio margarito most punches in a fight&f=false :deal

Where did you get that 1,200 was a WW record? Margarito did this years before Pac ever fought at WW.

Vitali threw over 1,000 against KJ at HW.
