good question. all time it only can be one and that is chavez. as for today, barrera retired, morales is on his way of retiring and marquez, well he is a great boxer, but something is missing with him.

pacquiao or canelo I would say, but you could make a case for pacqiao.

Maybe because Mexicans love boxing so much they don't care for ethnicity as long as they fight like a Mexican.

Let me explain you guys, actually is pretty easy to understand, the are two main tv networks Televisa and tv Azteca and each one has exclusivity contracts with some fighters To broadcast their fights (just like HBO and showtime )


Tv Aztec has Arce, Chavez, Paquiao etc basically all the top rank rooster


TELEVISA has all the guys from golden boy Canelo, Floyd etc


When JMM fought Floyd nobody from azteca talked about the fight and when JMM fought Manny nobody from televisa talked about it.


That's why Canelo vs Chavez is not done, because neither tv network wants to lose its cashcow
