    To many "IF's"
    & honestly, won't ever happen.

Both Martinez & Pacquiao are in for a change of plans come their next fight's.

High risk, low reward? If SGM beats Williams, a fight between he and Pac would be for the lineal middleweight championship of the World.

That, in and of itself is a huge reward. And even if Pac loses, he lost to a full fledged and slick middleweight.

This is a no brainer if the fight comes about. I think his legacy and legend would be insurmountable if he were to win a fight of that magnitude.

I agree 100%. But RJJ missed some huge fights too, and he and Floyd may end up in the same category of "Why didn't he ever fight (_____)?" And you can fill in about 10 names for each of them.

Great fighters? Absolutely, did they take great risks? Absolutely not.

Yeah good point. But unfortunately Im not old enough to remember who Jones should have fought and who he avoided, so could be nice to name the 10 he should have fought in the 90´s and early 2000´s and why they didnt happen :D

Arum has used his last in-house superfight opponent I'm hoping. I want to see Pac fight the winner of Martinez-Williams for the middleweight belt!

Sure they are dangerous fights for Pac. But it's time we see him get tested at these higher weights. Last 4 fights have been too easy.

Pacquiao fighting Martinez at 155 for the Middleweight title should seem ridiculous but somehow it doesn't.

I don't think it will happen but it would be an excellent fight and a massive event. Pac's legend would be enhanced even further by just taking this fight - if he won he would take another step up in the ATG rankings.

At 154 Pac would still take it IMO. Martinez is very fast but Pac is a machine right now. Size wouldn't be a problem but Matinez style could. Also Manny should never go up to 160.

Wrong. Don't ever compare RJJ and Floyd, the only similarity is that they are both great athletes. We already know Floyds M.O. but Roy didn't have to go to heavyweight and fight a guy that outweighed him by 30+ lbs, and i don't care if he was the weakest belt holder, Floyd didn't even want to shave 2 frickin lbs for Marquez. Roy didn't have to rematch Tarver and he did't have to fight Joe at 39 yrs old or Bhop at like 40. Do you think that at 33 (before the ko) he would've bsed around a career defining fight with a guy as big (popularity) and dangerous as Pac for $50-60 million?!?!?!?! No.:nut

Pac would be out of his league vs Martinez. Martinez is too big, too fast, too strong at 154 and above, and too slick. I'm sure Freddie understands this.

Pacquiao is an amazing fighter. But... big size disadvantage to him.

Atleast Margarito will come forward for him to punch. Martinez will box him from the outside. (he's pretty quick too)

Yeah I don't think it's as much as size as it is being outclassed..... there are some big fighters who would walk into Pacman's fury... hence, Margarito, JCC Jr., Bundrage, Cotto, Rhodes, Cintron, maybe even Angulo.. but with Martinez, you have a fighter who can fight on the outside and take Pacquiao out of his game completely.. it would still be closer than many would think but Pac couuld easily get late KO'd because of a frustration mistake... then Martinez would rise as a serious contender to the p4p throne

I doubt very much that he could beat Martinez. Nor Williams. Neither at 154.

Williams, despite his height advantage, would be the easier of the two for pac. He relies a great deal on workrate, and Pac is superbly conditioned to take this advantage away from the punisher.

At 147, which PW claims to be able to make, Pac wins.

Martinez can't make 147 so it's moot there.

Yup it doesn't fit Pac kind of fighter he likes fighters that don't move :hey

    Martinez would kill him...

Honestly if pac wanted to proove any ****ing person wrong KO sergio Martinez or do something amazing like that a person in their prime coming off wins.

We know Pac can punch so he can take Martinez down... if he lands. We know he has the stamina, he takes bigger fighters 5"11 margarito vs 5"10 Martinez..

    I would see this fight...

I can see Top Rank pushing a Cotto rematch. I'm a huge Cotto fan but I really don't want to see it.

Pac fighting for the middleweight championship (at 155! lol) would be epic. In terms of legacy he has nothing to lose, nobody would fault him for losing to much bigger fighters but he might take a bad beating. If he wins though (+ a Mayweather win) it would put him in the all time elite company. Its far fetched but beating Mayweather and the Williams/Martinez winner is not impossible.
