You've already given the reasons why in your post.

Certainly one of the greatest hwts ever to live. I personally do not rate him top five but absolutely top ten. They don't make hwt champions like Marciano any longer. Meticulously trained, ko power in both fists, a tricky low crouch bobbing and weaving style that was hard to time and as courageous and tough as any man who ever entered the ring. He would give very tough fights to most other hwt champions.

He is Mongoose who left us in a fit of childish pique when he failed to get me banned. Now back under an alias because he didnt have the nuts to come back under his original name. He has me on ignore he says, yet manages to mention me at every opportunity.I offered to let bygones be bygones but he isn't having any of it.A very sad individual who holds the mistaken belief that he is somehow of more worth than the rest us and flies into irrational rages when anyone disagrees with him.Best let him do his own thing ,he will probably end up with 99% of us on ignore and spitting fury at himself ,he's harmless enough.

Why would that be?Marciano was a great champ who fought everybody around ,ducking no challengers .By all accounts he was a fine man too.I dare say Seamus would agree, but because some here have a different perspective of the Rock than that of his more fervent R*******S they are labelled haters. It ain't so!

Has anybody ever claimed "Marciano is the greatest the sport has ever known"??

It seems this is a retaliation thread For those that continually lose arguments about Rocky with people who don't actually think Rocky was the greatest "the sport has ever known". A comfort blanket where wounds can be licked.

I merely compiled oft-repeated points made in Marciano's defense and then connected these plotted points to come to a single conclusion... that there is an argument for him being the greatest practitioner the sport has witnessed.

I've read plenty of your posts on here over the years where you've trumpeted your own personal athletic prowess. At various points you've claimed to have whipped guys in tough man contests, broken 11 seconds for the 100 yard dash when you were an infant and how you power lifted weights in college that would've made Hercules shudder. After connecting all these plotted points I've come to the conclusion that not only are you the greatest athlete to ever live, you're actually the greatest man to ever live full stop.

Funny that Marciano himself never went around making such a grandiose claim!

Of course you can form an argument for that.

You can form better arguments for other people though.

Your welcome to your opinion, and nothing wrong with you voicing it. But, but if we go by the undefeated premise your using along with good or great defensive prowess (which in MY opinion he was average ,,,,, at best) And his destructive power( he was a better than average puncher) He along with Floyd Mayweather jr. Are the two best fighters in history. And IF you truly believe that I have a bridge in Dubai to sell you. Because neither is close to being the G.O.A.T. Marciano was a perfect storm of coincidences. E.Charles was beyond prime,J.Walcott beyond prime , J.Louis, beyond prime. A.Moore, beyond prime. His 4 best opponents were on their very last legs . The overall competition wasn't close to anything good. (but unlike that other undefeated fighter he did fight the best fighters available at the time.) That in my opinion doesn't make you the G.O.A.T. He does belong and is in Canastota but the greatest of all time? No.

Would you please go back in time and explain this to all those I watched cross the finish line before me?
