wasn't to impressed with him today. He seems only to be really good against other brawlers or weak-chinned fighters. It rather seemed like a fight Afolabi lost rather than a fight Huck won. He has improved some since the Cunningham fight, but not enough for me to rate him as more than a rather weak paper champion. I still don't see how he would defeat a tougher boxer like Cunningham. His power is good, but a little overrated maybe, since Afolabi was never really hurt it seems, even though Marco landed a few hard punches. This also was not the first time he was hurt himself... How you think he would against: 1) David Haye (down to cruiser) 2) Yoan Pablo Hernandez 3) Alexander Alexeev 4) Grigory Drozd 5) BJ Flores 6) Wlodarcyzk 7) Firat Arslan 8) Alexander Frenkel I mention these guys, because none of them holds a title at CW right now and are tough challengers in a deep division. I think I would take Huck against 4,6 and 7, but am not really sure about the rest. Probably good for him that Frenkel and Hernandez are also with Sauerland...
I think Flores, Cunningham, Haye, and Adamek all beat Huck right now. Hernandez would be a nearly 50-50 fight, IMO. Huck beats the rest, including Alexeev who just isn't ready for the pressure Huck could bring (is he ever going to be?). I don't really rate Frenkel at this stage, though I wish him luck in the future. The thing is, if these guys fight Huck in Germany, it will be harder for them. I can for example see Flores sneaking out a close win, but being thwarted by Huck's "hometown advantage" on the cards.
I agree with what you said. But really Huck isnt really impressive at all tbh...its just that he has more to offer than a slow paced fighter like Ola. Yea but Wlodarczyk already has the Number 1 Contender Status to fight Zsolt Erdei for the WBC!
I thought it was an entertaining fight. Gotta like a guy who fights often and fights to win by KO. Flores he ko's, Haye too big/strong, he's 50-50 but coming to win over all the others except: Cunningham rematch would be a repeat of the first, though if it happens hopefully by that time a full unification.
Huck is a solid but average champ. Should be Top5 at cw right now. He was not KOed by Cunningham because of his chin but because of samina issues. He was exhausted. His stamina has improved but not by that much. He really has all the tools but he is very hot blooded and loses temper pretty easily and so likes to throw a good gameplan overboard. He should have a chance against any cruiser but is also beatable by the other top cruisers. 1) David Haye (down to cruiser) - Haye KO 2) Yoan Pablo Hernandez - Huck UD 3) Alexander Alexeev - Huck late TKO, Alexeev still needs some time 4) Grigory Drozd - Huck UD 5) BJ Flores - Huck TKO 6) Wlodarcyzk - Huck TKO 7) Firat Arslan - Huck TKO, Arslan is too old right now, would like to see him against Fragomeni 8) Alexander Frenkel - Huck KO, Frenkel isn't ready yet 9) Tomasz Adamek - Adamek UD 0) Steve Cunningham - Cunningham UD
1) David Haye (down to cruiser): Haye by KO. Huck has a decent chin, not more, so Haye would take him out with some precise powershots. 2) Yoan Pablo Hernandez: Has problems with pressure and the style, Wegner taught him. His chin isn't good too. In terms of technique he moves about two classes above Huck, but premium technique is propably not enough. 3) Alexander Alexeev: Untested Hype-Job, who lost against Ramirez and looked very bad against Max Alexander. Certainly, Alekseev brings a lot of skill and power along, but currently he lacks experience, will and stamina to compete on a higher level. This could be deciding, because a fight against Huck depends rather on physical attributes than on skill. 4) Grigory Drozd: Lost clearly against the very limited pressure fighter Arslan. 5) BJ Flores: Untested. Two, maybe three better wins in his record. 6) Wlodarcyzk: Rumours say, that Wlod looked bad in several sparring sessions with Huck. 7) Firat Arslan: Out of the Game right now. Misfortune with injurys, got destroyed by Jones, not very talented, old. 8) Alexander Frenkel: Frenkel has the things to become a complete fighter. At the present time he's untested, so you can hardly say how he would do against a fighter like Huck.
Huck would never TKO Wlodarczyk, and Adamek would destroy him before the 9th round, lol whats this UD ****? Huck has no chance vs Tomasz. None. Cunningham already TKOed Huck so he would probably do it again! Those Wlodarczyk rumors how he was struggling vs. Huck in sparring, is just that.... rumors.
