Is Marcos Maidana greater than Jorge Castro ?

I don’t know, I think Castro??? It’s hard to have a “great” career today with Castro’s attitude to managing his career, he went where the money was and dug in and fought. Jorge near the end a former 140lber? In fighting cruiserweights for his next pay check… little soft touch named Jirov….. the next big thing, the boogeyman, guys twice his size whatever, whenever and he’d be there all night. He was among the best raw material of a fighter I’ve ever seen, if he’d been built by someone like Nacho, Miller and Futch who knows? It’s like @Pat M has said… chances are Bonavena would at least be as good as Frazier if he was built right in the Ol US of A.

I love Maidana and how he beat Floyd twice. But even with that great accomplishment he can't eclipse Locomotora beating John David Jackson twice, Reggie Johnson twice, Roberto Duran, Imamu Mayfield, and in some enlightened circles having an argument for edging out both Roy Jones and Terry Norris.

He artfully set up Jackson, conning him into lowering that right, fooling the ref by cutting his own eye (a la Rick Flair) to create anxiety in JDJ, playing possum and retreating to the ropes, luring in John, until delivering the Coup De Ville. A true master's class.

I honestly liked Maidana befor Garcia. Reason.. he had that Gene Fullmer unpredictability about him. Although Garcia imparted some solid skills I liked the more unpredictable version. Can't go wrong either version though.
