Is Margarito/Cotto fight of the year candidate?

    I can understand people choosing Cotto-Margarito. It was a fantastic fight and there also was a lot of hype. But please, if you haven't seen it, watch Vasquez-Marquez III before making your choice.

    yes it is..the reason it may become fight of the year because it was one of the most anticipated fights by most boxing fans, but so is pac-marquez 2 and vasquez-marquez 3.

    In terms of excitement vasquez-marquez 3 is still on top, for me

    3. katsidis-casa
    4. pac-jmm 2

    that fight was just sick. Less drama than Vasquez - Marquez but 2 much better fighters. JMM and Pac can do things in the ring that Vasquez and Rafa can only dream of.

    For me Vasquez vs Rafa III is a close close second. And Cotto Margarito is 3rd.

    But then again my favorite fight of 2007 was Calzaghe vs Kessler so i guess i have very different criteria than most people

    Not sure about that...Marquez and VAsquez have underestimated skills.

    Vazquez vs Marquez 3, then the others but somehow I wouldn't want to see a 4th fight between these two. Also one of the best boxing trilogies.

    Of course it's a candidate.

    But Vazquez-Marquez 3 would probably get more votes if you took a poll, and is more likely to win in The Ring and other lists as well.

    Vasquez vs. Marquez 2 was by Ring Magazine and round 3 was round of the year. If you havent seen that round I suggest you go see it on Youtube. Great round. :good
