    What do you think?

P.S. I'm sorry I'm creating some many new threads. I'm new here and I guess I'm trying to gauge new opinions about the sport of boxing.

Yeah, it was a terrific fight. Somewhat like Pryor-Arguello 1 in that the controversy lives on but so does the fight for all the right reasons too.

Absolutely. The controversy wasn't this fight, it was the Mosley one.

Good point. The two got mixed up in my mind but you’re exactly right.

But there's the famous photo of Margarito's hands post-fight and I feel like that soured his win over Cotto regardless.

Its not the first great controversial fight and it won't be the last.

Look closely at that pic & you'll see the "cracks in the plaster" on Tonys handwraps are in fact cotton threads ROFL !!. I was at that first Cotto fight & saw Tonys hands wrapped then & many many times too over the years & I never ever saw any impropriety. It was just Naz Richardson doing his usual complaining about their opponents wraps being hard & ludicrously claiming he saw plaster blocks fall out LOL The CSAC foolishly ran with that & in doing so ruined a good fighters name & reputation based on a LIE!!!! They never had anything but silly accusations

Robert I saw on FB today that my buddy Antonio Margarito was being interviewed in Puerto Rico. Guy asks him who he felt was a good Puerto Rican boxer. Tony said Felix Trinidad. Then he asked him what he thought about Canelo not wanting to fight other Mexican fighters? He said "Mexico doesn't like him , he doesn't fight anyone that he knows he cannot beat with his obvious advantages. He fights drunks & cab drivers. He is NOT liked in Mexico I assure you". Now Tony is 100 % Mexican to the bone he'll fight till he drops no quit or ducking in him. He assured him Mexico has never forgiven Canelo for how he blatantly ducked GGG & handed him his WBC title . He added I hope this time he wins the fight AGAIN but this time gets the decisionor better still KO him

What are the chances that Margarito gets caught with Mosley doing exactly what he is previously accused of with Cotto?
I would like to see the odds of that happing! Lol! Thats no coincidence, Margarito was a cheater long before he was caught and he will always be remembered of just that, being a cheater.

To answer your question, no Margarito vs Cotto 1 will not be remembered as a classic. It is remembered as the fight where s fighter blatantly cheated in probally one of the most egregious ways possible and got away with it.

OK Motor Mouth Now tell me how Margarito cheated?? It all started with a blatant lie from Notorious Naz Richardson about Plaster blocks fell from Margaritos wraps. There never were any Plaster blocks. The CSAC lied saying there was "White Plaster like substance smeared on the pad'. The independent lab that tested the pad said it was just a harmless used gauze pad Tonys trainer Capetillo accidently put in when wrapping. No mention of "white plaster like substance" was found on it. To save face & being as they had nothing to prove he'd done anything wrong the CSAC refused to give Tony his boxing licence back for nearly 3 years because they SUSPECTED he'd tried to load his gloves. He was RAILROADED!!
I was at the Cotto -Margarito fight & when it was over he congratulated Tony no mention of any suspected wrong doing.
It wasn't till this blew up that COTTO joined in the Loaded gloves Bull feces to try to excuse him being beaten like a ragdoll till he took a knee & QUIT!!! Cotto only took the rematch when he knewTony's eye was permanently damaged by Pacquaio. Tony couldn't see out of that eye from round 2 & the ref knew it but didn't think of stopping the fight till Cotto started to wilt AGAIN!!
That fight was stopped to save Cotto quitting on his knees AGAIN!!!! NOt to save Tony'e eye
Know what youre talking about before flapping your gums Making yourself look a fool

I had to double check that Im on the 'Classic' section when you came out the gate name calling like an 8yr old.
I dont mind having a friendly debate but If I wanted to back and forth with name calling then I would go to the 'General' section where I think you should go, from the sounds of it you would fit in over there.
Before you go though take this into your undeveloped mind..Margarito is known in the world of boxing as a World Class Cheater not a World Class boxer! Lol!
Go to Google or any search engine you want, any social media like youtube ect..there are more articles, docs, interviews and more about Margarito being consdered the most infamous cheater in boxing than anything else.

Show proof of this please...... Margaritos wraps were tested by an independent lab & NO PLASTER WAS EVER FOUND !!! PERIOD!! all that was in there was the used gauze pad that Javier Capetillo accidently put in & not a new one Which at worst would be a technical offense . Richardson lied, the CSAC Insp Lied & the CSAC rather than man up they made a mistake they sold him & his good name down the river They couldn't indict him on anything they had nothing theyd have been laughed out of court & Tony would have been a very rich man

You have more of the burden of proof Margarito wasent a cheater then my burden of proof he was a cheater. Lol!! That speaks for itself!
