HOW DOES MAX HAVE THE NERVE TO CALL OUT FLOYD, YET HE WON'T DARE MENTION PAUL WILLIAMS NAME TO MARGARITO??? :nono

Between and after both fights, there was a lot of talk about the welterweight division and how Margarito is the "Welterweight champion", "most feared Welterweight", and "The best Welterweight". He was described as "savage" and all other types of BS. I have never seen a fighter get his ass whipped and one year later he is all of a sudden Mr. Fearless Warrior without having to prove he can get revenge! :huh

Despite all the Margarito excuses, he LOST! And his fans should want to see him get his revenge instead of just TAKING HIS WORD FOR IT THAT HE CAN BEAT HIM THIS TIME!!!

Now everyone talks about how he deserves this "Oscar Payday". So what? He shouldn't be broke! It's not like he didn't make millions throughout his career!

What he needs to do is quit calling out retired (PBF) and irrelevant washed-up (ODLH) fighters and sign his name on the dotted line! :deal

Yet, somehow the press is not willing to press the issue on this one. They are perfectly content letting him call out other while being called out, and giving him this media-darling title of the greatest Welterweight.

Don't think for one minute Paul Willimas wouldn't be the more motivated fighter second time around after being ducked and ducked and forgotten! :fire

bull****, margarito consteantly fought the best fighters with little names like clottey, willeams, cintron, now cotto

even losing to williams aint a big deal williams is 6 ft 5 southpaw and the fight could of went to either fight, with marg controlling the second part of the fight, styles make fights williams if a tough style for alot of people

This is what I hope happens:

    Next fight: Margo vs Clottey

Maybe a fight in between, then Williams-Margo II.

The promoters of Margo and Williams -- Arum and Goosen -- hate each other, though. That could complicate things.

If Williams hadn't lost to Quintana and Margo hadn't beat "Boxing Jesus" Cotto, then people wouldn't be pumping Margo up so much and Williams would be all the rage. But since Margo-Williams, Paul has lost (and avenged the loss) and Margo has destroyed 3 fighters, two of whom are highly touted. Thus, Margo is getting all the pub.

I like Williams, a lot. He is very talented and he handed Margo only his first clean loss since Margo was 18 years old. That is a HUGE accomplishment, and there is no doubt The Punisher could defeat Margo again.

Can't wait for the rematch. The only other guy who could beat Margo at WW is Floyd, IMO. Maybe he'll come back.

ALL BULL****! Losing to Williams ain't no big deal??? How is it not a big deal if you're all of a sudden being paraded around as the best welter??? And Margarito controlled round 8, 9, 10, and 11.... Go back and watch the 12th round! That fight wasn't nearly as close as the judges had it scored.

AGAIN, A BUNCH OF EXCUSES! YOU HAVE PROVIDED NO REASON WHATSOEVER WHY MARGARITO SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FACE PAUL BEFORE BEING CONSIDERED THE BEST WELTERWEIGHT!

As someone who likes Margarito, let me say that I personally feel Margo has to defeat Williams in order to be called the best welterweight.

Paul beat him, fair and square. He has the head-to-head "W."

Best fighters with little names??? First off Cotto was top 10 P4P and very highly regarded and v ery popular. Cintron was a heavily hyped prospect. Neither of those guys were "little names". Clottey was nobody when Margarito fought him and everyone in there mother predicted that he would get KO'd. Nobody realized how good Clottey was til the Margarito fight(I actually seen Clottey fight and called him to upset Margarito). He was also suppose to destroy Williams to. So don't make it like he's been fighting high risk low reward fights this whole time because the second Cintron fight was a low risk high reward fight for him.

Oh and Williams CLEARLY won that fight.

Williams isn't 6'5" and it wasn't the kind of fight that could have gone either way. Williams won. Clearly. 116-112 or 115-113 but it was not a controversial decision. I like how people say that Paul Williams is only good because he is tall but Margarito is 5'11" and this NEVER gets mentioned as some unfair advantage.

This whole "The Real Welterweight Champion of the World" stuff has GOT to stop. Antonio Margarito beat Cotto, who won a vacant championship against another challenger. He wasn't the man, therefore Margarito never beat the man. You have Margarito, Williams, Clottey and Berto with belts. Margo holds a win over Clottey, Williams holds a win over Margo, so there is NO clear champ at Welterweight.

Let's all try and use some common ****ing sense!

DLH promised Margarito a shot when he becomes a champion. He also said he would be very interested in the winner of Cotto/Margarito, of course he was certain Cotto would win. FMJ is a scared man who only fights for a huge payday. So what is wrong with Margarito wanting to get a shot at DLH?

    Paulfv

    I LIKE MARGARITO ALSO!

If there was no Paul Williams around I would totally be a Margarito fan. It's hard not to like a guy like that who walks through punches! But you know like I do... Fair is fair. But a lot of his fans, and obviously people in the media, aren't as realistic and objective as you.

How was the second Cintron fight a low risk/high reward fight?:rofl

Margo had nothing to gain and everything to lose. Also, Williams, Clotty, and the Cintron rematch were very High risk/very low reward fights. ONly reason why those fighters are relevant are because of margo. Did shane give those guys a shot? Cotto? pbf? NO, margo has fought the top 5 welters at this point in time before they were even known, Margo is a beast plain and simple. Anyone who has a problem with margo wanting a hoya fight is a hater simple as it is.:smoke

People think I'm this super-Margo nuthugger but I have FULL respect for Paul Williams and give him big props for beating Margo fair and square. Until Margo avenges that loss, and he may have to do it twice in a trilogy, you can't say Margo is "THE" man in the welterweights, I feel. It's just not fair to Paul.

Like I've said, I can seem like a dick but I try to tell the truth and not allow my bias to affect that. Paul Williams beat Margarito, and that can't just be tossed out of the window because Williams lost to Quintana and Margo beat "Boxing Jesus" Cotto.

    Good stuff, Neckbreakn!

Everybody wants a huge payday. Margarito wants to fight DLH, and why is that? A big pay check. DUH!
