i think so. he takes everything you give him without flinching. i cant believe how he walked through cotto's punches so easily. i was amazed when he did the same against cintron! on top of that he has very hard punches (which is the reason cotto preferred to box) and a high workrate.
he just keeps on you, if your tyre punchures and he catches you then your in trouble. its what happened to cotto.

i wondered if cotto would have done better had he traded more, concentrating on the body. it always hurts the body.
still it doesnt matter, cotto is a great great fighter, not overrated!
when special fighters like cotto lose in this manner, you realise and appreciate even more special fighters like james toney who have never been stopped from middle to heavy under every situation!

i dont see who can trade with margarito and last the distance. it should be interesting!

    PEACE :good

No. He's a less powerful relative to his peers and has less strength relative to his peers, perhaps. He is a more succinct puncher but I don't think his timing is as good as George.

Also, George altered his style to suit his limitations, especially where accuracy is concerned, Margarito has not done that.

They have more in common than not, but i'm still not keen on the comparison.

no one will beat him in the welterweight division by coming to him. only by boxing him. this is the same situation with george at heavyweight.

If so, does that make Paul Williams the Muhammad Ali of WW?

Margo isn't an ATG. Jesus, he gets one big win and people start comparing him to Foreman

Great win for Margarito though, beating the unbeaten and skilled Cotto.

The comparison wasn't about the level of greatness. That looked to be obvious. Guess not.

i said it in the other thread
cotto is not a KO puncher
he is a hard puncher who slowly break guys down then KO's them
that is he gets better towards the end of fights so to say margo has an iron chin because of that is not totaly correct, he is incredibly durable...
cotto's pure punch power is over rated
