Is Margarito The Only Man Who Can Beat Cotto?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by san rafael, Nov 26, 2008.

  1. **** no, Margarito has already KO'D him..would do it again sooner:yep

Williams would beat him, to big, to good a boxer..

Clotty would beat him, gave Margarito a tougher fight than, Cotto did, to many people underestimate clotty:huh

We all know Mayweather would outbox Cotto, to fast, to good defensely, Mayweather KO-LATE:deal

Hatton 50-50 to beat Cotto, if Hatton cut down on the booze and trained in the gym between fight's and not in the pubs, i would say ricky for sure, but that's not the case:-(

Cotto will never be the same fighter., Margo beat him down hard and psychologicaly that's a killer..

I think Margarito beats him in a rematch, Williams beats him. If Mayweather is as, or almost as good as he was before "retiring", then I say he wins too.

Clottey and Cintron are pretty live underdogs too.

I voted for PW, PBF and Margarito .... those 3 are the only ones I think that give Cotto problems.. maybe berto? I am not sold on Berto yet, but if he ends up being as good as he possibly can be... he could too. People forget how damn young Berto is

Oscar has bitched about body attacks since Vargas and was exposed in that sense by B-Hop

Cotto being the devastating body puncher that he is...would murder DLH

Marg shouldn't be a choice because he already beat him. PBF i would favor but he's retired right now.

Hatton is the only one on this list that has no shot at all against Cotto. Everyone else presents some sort of stylistic advantage they can use against Cotto. Now I'm not saying I favor all of these guys over Cotto. I'm just saying they do have some sort of chance. The guys I do favor over Cotto however: Margarito, PW, Floyd.. that's it..

    :good

although clottey-cotto would be a great scrap, the edge definetly goes to cotto based on style & experience.

I think Clottey could hurt Cotto. Don't know if Cotto can hurt Clottey. I mean Clottey is a guy who took a compubox record 1,675 punches from Margarito and was never once stunned. That saids A LOT. Size wise, he's just as big as Margarito. Cotto was a midget next to Margarito.

when was this mystery fight that happened where ODH all of a sudden sucked...Of course he could beat cotto...why not? ODH is a big strong fighter with a ton of experience a nice jab and great hook? I am not saying he def would but he def could

I think in the rematch Cotto will most likely do what he has to do to win the rounds on points and not exhaust himself for a KO...but who knows if he can avoid Margo for THAT long...so yea i'd say he has a pretty good shot

Williams is just too ****in big...he might be hurt by some serious body shots...but the 82' reach advantage is disgusting...no way he wins...I think he stands the STRONGEST chance

Margarito's problem with many of his fights is that he ALWAYS stands in front of his opponents...and Clottey isn't someone to trade with...Cotto would simply outbox him and win by a close UD

Mayweather has many problems with DLH's early agression and had almost lil to no response for those gay ass flurries Oscar threw...Cotto is far more devastating and accurate (watch the ****in' Margo fight again...the guy has as much precision as Mayweather)...if he can just maintain some composure at the end he can either win by early KO or SD

A fight with Hatton would be a joke...Cotto would murder him at 147 within 4 or 5 rounds. At 140 would be a different story, but nothing in my mind recalls Hatton ever fighting a devastating pressure puncher. I think at this point Hatton would have serious trouble with Torres, let alone Cotto...either way he'd win at either weight class...more so at 147
