The thread asks who CAN beat Cotto...that's asking for either a strong 60 - 80% chance or a definite win

seeing as how Margo already won once by devastating KO, it can SURELY happen again...and PW is too obvious an answer

everyone else of course stands a chance, but realistically i think Cotto wins all of em

People who think workrate doesn't matter should not pretend to know a lot about boxing. Don't know why you have such a problem with a high workrate being a problem for fighters.

true. but margos punches are more telegraphic than cottos and i doubt josh will throw as much. if miguel can execute a similar game plan inwhich he had against margo, i can see him winning by decision.

I think DLH beats him too........just.

I don't have a problem with workrate, but I have a problem with posters using the word "workrate" & not understanding what it means. Workrate doesn't only apply to punching.

If workrate is the key to winning fights, DLH would've beat PBF right?

Assuming that Cotto comes back exactly as before, meaning the loss did not devestate him mentally... I'd only favor Maragrito to beat him again.
Some of the others I think may beat him (Mayweather and Williams), but I'd still put Cotto as the favorite.

its not ALL that matters, but it certainly plays a larger factor than most...

i mean ****...how else do you explain the rise of JC? all he has is workrate and speed...

Exactly. That doesn't make a good fighter. You can have the highest workrate in boxing, but if you're not landing anything, your workrate means nothing. If workrate was all that mattered, I know I could be a boxer.

DLH hasn't fought a legitimate WW at this stage in his career and is getting ****in black eyes from lil Stevie Forbes and his sparring partners...

**** that man...im still not going further into it than that...

  12. :good I think Clotty would stop Cotto late also, Cotto looked like he was ready to quit the last 3 rounds of the Margo fight, and Clotty would bust him up just like Margo did, Clotty bigger, stronger (cotto is just to short) and dosen't have Clotty's strength, and size..

I never said its ALL that matters...but it certainly plays a good factor in the situation...I dont think someone who throws THAT many punches wont land ANYTHING...the idea being if you throw enough punches you'll eventually land something...and if you have power behind those punches, it makes the gameplan THAT much more effective

I'm not even sure what your point is about workrate not being EVERYTHING (which again...i never said it was) in a fight...

I think 4 of the fighters can beat him. # of them are definites in my mind:Williams, AM and Floyd. I think Clottey wins, but that is a winnable fight for Cotto.
