Is Margarito The Only Man Who Can Beat Cotto?

I would favor Margarito, PTP, and Mayweather over Cotto.

Berto and Clottey both would have a shot but I'd favor Cotto over them.

 

Mayweather will kill Cotto worse than Margarito did ...

 

Berto in a few years if he improves....

Margarito, Mayweather, Williams AND Hatton are favourites if they fight Cotto. I'll give my percentages and reasons:

Margarito 70-30 (relentless pressure, the first fight is huge proof too).
Mayweather 65-35 (speed advantage, defense, stamina and accuracy, too much to overcome).
Williams 55-45 (huge size advantage, workrate and stamina are all problems for Cotto).
Hatton 51-49 (power and pressure, also Hatton looked very good and showed improved defense in the Malignaggi fight with Mayweather Sr. in his corner).

Clottey and Cintron could also cause problems for Cotto, but I would favour Cotto over those two.

It does matter.

Williams had to throw almost 1.100 punches, in order to land less than 250 on Margarito (22%), so I guess yeah workrate is a big factor for winning fights.

 

Just because he hasn't fought a welter in a while does not lead me to think he couldnt do very well. The Floyd fight was at welter for all intents and purposes. I'm not writing him off because of Forbes. As much as I hate him as far as I'm concerned he's still world class even up at Midleweight.

 

Mayweather, Margarito, and Williams could beat him. But, I think Cotto also has a shot at beating them.

well since their is 300 people saying someone else can more than likely not....cotto damn near lost to torres corley and mosely,,,he is obviously beatable...although he is a great fighter

 

oscar cotto right now is a pickem fight in vegas...5 years ago oscar should win without much problem...oscar has a great chin and is a warrior....he would outclass cotto....and I hate oscar as well
