He's not going blind. He was confused by Cotto's Puelto Lican pronunciation of "roto" (ripped) and "rojo" (red), reluctant to admit the obvious claims of evidence, or both.
His bad eye is probably better than Joe Frazier's bad eye. If he beats Cotto, he will probably be able to eek out about 5 million from now and into the future. Most fighters would probably give an eye for that. How much would you "risk" an eye for?
