Maybe Margarito's just has Cotto's number ? saying that though I predict a points win for Cotto this time around.

even tho tony struggled to land on manny
he was working his arse off .....

his jab was was quite rapid (for him)
his workrate was good
he jabbed his way into attacks (instead of just plodding forward )
his chin was as solid as ever
and
his physique looked sharper than ever

Even in losing i thought he looked better than ever ????????

lets remember manny was too small & fast target to hit for tony

miguel likes to take his time , set up attacks then step off
miguel works at a slower pace and his stocky frame is an
easier target to find .

if an unfit , sloppy , injured hand mayorga can land on miguel
and shake him up a few times
then
margo will be in cotto's face all night !

i could see miguel getting a very close points win ( but shaken badly a few times)
but
i dont like miguel at 154 he was faster and more mobile at 147
if he is slower that only means one thing tony will find him easier

i think margarito has always been the type of fighter who needs a certain fighting style to fight against rather than having it he needed an opponent who helps his attributes

 

He took a pasting against Pac, but that's because Pac is a phenomenal athlete who can maintain the intense work rate required to fend off Margarito.

I doubt he's "past it," although I'll reserve judgement until the Cotto fight.

Really excited about it actually. I reckon it's gonna be a bloody 12 round war with both of them looking to prove a point. I think Cotto will take it based on Stewards tutoring. He'll devise a careful 12 round plan which will involve throwing just the right amount to fend Marg off, but not so much so that he gasses in the latter rounds and gets walked down.

That said, I reckon there'll be occasions during the fight where they both suddenly make it "personal" and just trade bombs .

 

I'm thinking, and hoping that the beatings will catch up with him against Cotto. Cotto needs to learn how to initiate a clinch though.

 

Margarito's past achievements should be void. It is not as though he was a HOF'er or anything pre-Mosley.
