Now how the hell can Williams be the top man coming off a loss? Your hypothetical scenario, totally changes everything. Williams beat knocked out Los in 1 round in the rematch. He redeemed himself. However, the loss in the first fight is the reason I'm not saying that Williams is the top man in the division. At the same time, neither is Margo. The logic here is fairly simple.

I can't understand how they can't see what we're saying Reg. We make valid points and are labeled as AM haters.

It was hardly a wide margin. I had it 7-5, 8-4 was also a fair score.

Sorry Ramshall, I'm not buying this. I'll tell you another thing, I bet Margo doesn't consider himself the top man in the division. I bet he wants to fight Williams again and quell all doubts.

Cotto was not clearly the top WW. He held a paper title and his best win was over past it Mosley.

Why would you want Margo to fight DLH? Hoya is allegedly old and past it.

These same people said Margo had no chance against Cotto. Polls on this site are not the end all that be all. People are heavilly influenced by the here and now. Margo just KO'd Cotto yesterday. It is only natural that people have an infalted opinion of him right now.

The results aren't surprising. Margo just pummeled a popular fighter yesterday.

The logic is indeed simple but you're convoluting it.:deal

Margarito beat the man so he takes his place.

Williams has a claim but AM holds the top spot.

How was Cotto the man? I thought the man had to be undisputed, or at least the lineal champ. Since when do you become the man by winning a paper title and beating a 36 year old man? You know what, I don't even know why people are so emphatic about calling Margo the top guy. It's not even an official title. Look, if you want to call Margo the man even though he's not lineal or undisputed and despite the fact that the there's another champ that recently beat him out there, be my guest. However, it simply doesn't make sense.

I feel that the number 1 spot is currently vacant.

Why don't you answer the question? Cotto wasn't lineal or undisputed, and he held a paper title. He may have been the most talented fighter in the division, but he wasn't the man.

The difference is, that 36 year old man was the recognized champ at WW. If you beat the recognized champ, you become the recognized champ. There is no recognized champ right now, and Mosley certainly wasn't recognized champ(or any type of champ for that matter) when Cotto beat him.
