----- I think Wlad has excellent wins on his record. Haye, Byrd two times, Chagaev, Ibragimov, etc. He has dominated the last 7 years. His worst opponent, in recent years, was probably Jean Marc Mormeck, a past prime cruiserweight great. However, do you think Mariusz Wach (27-0) is a legitimate opponent? Is he much better than Manuel Charr? Is he better than Eddie Chambers? Would you consider him a Top10 contender?
I'd consider Wach borderline top 25. Better than Charr, but that's not saying a lot. I think Wach is borderline "OK" for a voluntary defense -- Charr is not.
No. No disrespect but who the **** is he?? I understand Wlad wants to keep the belts & will fight whoever the ORGs demand... But come on Klit. Throw us a bone bro. Here in states we Want to love the HW's again but give us a name.
he's not a top 10, and he should of taken Austin as planned in September and then Boystov in December, but the K bros have been sending offers to his camp for a while now, and it looks like he finally agreed to the fight he probably won't win the fight, I'm not getting any hopes up, but at least this guy has a real puncher's chance of KO'ing Wlad, he also has the size and strength not to be pushed around like a sissy in the ring Wlad will win, but this time he'll sweat a bit more than in recent fights
It's really not a bad fight. He's a big guy, undefeated, good power, good chin. Not a bad contender. It's important for Wlad to stay active. Hope he knocks Arreola or Boytsov next.
Its just as bad as the recent Wlad fights, he's tall yeah but so what? Tall doesn't make a good fighter and the fact is he's not a good fighter.
as a side note, Wach called out Arreola a while ago, but Arreola didn't respond to his invitation to fight
Frankly, I just don't think it matters if the 36-year-old, long-reigning, champ, whose best opponents that he hasn't already beaten aren't making themselves available to him, takes on whoever between his mandatories. I'd rather him be active. I don't think anything of the fight, but yeah, I'd rather he fight late 2012 instead of waiting out eliminators and such. What people don't get about long-reigning champs who go through everyone is A. They usually aren't in particularly good divisions, which is why nobody is dethroning them, even if they're very good or great, B. Unless you're at the minimum weight class, you tend to fight several guys who've moved up from lower weights, C. When you're in the later part of your career and have beaten most of the people who anyone thinks might challenge you, you try and grab up anyone that will sell anywhere for any reason, and as long as you're not ducking someone who is a willing standout challenger, and fulfilling your mandatories, you can take your show wherever you want and it's tough **** whoever doesn't like it. You're doing business because people are buying. You've earned the right to run your show at that point. Frankly, an undefeated big man, regardless of how good I think he's not, it's better getting it on (the fight) than sitting on it (the title). As long as he's free, if he wants to run around and fight Poland's man here or take on Bum****ia Island's best because it's Bum****ia's hottest prospect and they'll be interested, then whatever. Nikobless. :conf
Your probably right Boxed Ears, ideally we would want Wlad to fight Povetkin, Helenius etc. but if they don't want to fight him there isn't a lot he can do I suppose.
Povetkin said "no" two times and Helenius is injured. Is he retired? But Wlad can not choose a boxer who is injured and inactive.
