Is Mark Breland the greatest disappointment as a professional ever?

Breland was kicking their arses black and blue anyway.

 

Breland had a pretty good pro career and probably gets sold a little short there, all things considered. Nowhere near the disappointment Audley was IMO.

 

I was with Mark Breland and Roy Jones Jr. today, at the Ring 8 Christmas Party. I was among the honorees along with Jones, Emmanuel Stewart, Tomaz Adamek, John Ruiz and others.

 

God help me if winning a world title makes you a disappointment. Its what every fighter dreams of doing.

Howard Davis Jr. was supposed to be a future ATG as well, and achieved half what Mark Breland did.

 

That's why Davis also gets some mentions.

Breland was actually lauded as the next coming of Sugar Ray Robinson.

His was a very interesting career. He spent some time either pre pro or just after he went pro with Kronk, and Manny was working on building his neck up from memory.

 

You should have corner Emmanuel and asked him what he thought happened to Mark in the pro's. Emmanuel had a fair bit to do with him over the years.

You need to think of your ESB brethren more often!

 

Also ask Steward what happened to Steve McCrory. His death is still a bit of a mystery

 

Audley harrison is another olympic gold medalist who failed to win a major title.
