Marquez is better than Pacquiao, but in terms of accomplishments, it's a no-brainer. Marquez's only other significant win since 2004 is Juan Diaz.

Other than Pacquiao, name other significant victories in the past decade that Marquez can lay claim to.

Beating pac 4 times now puts him comfortably above him.

Aren't you the ppl. who disregard Floyd's resume because he hasn't fought Pacquiao? Well Marquez fought Pacquiao, and according to our scorecard he beat him at least thrice, so he doesn't need all the other champs and titles he actually fought and captured.

Did you read the thread title? We're considering if Marquez is better than the other three. In reality, it's Pacquiao at #1 and the other three Mexican greats as interchangeable.

Floyd's at ATG even without Pacquiao, but had they fought each other with Floyd emerging as the loser he would still be an ATG.

Only if you didn't follow the FW scene when he was there, he cleaned house at 126, names like Chris John, Gainer, Polo and Medina were top contenders/champions of the time. Polo's record being deceptive suffering several robberies in his championship fights. Salido he easily shut out, years later Salido beat Guerrero and Juanma

Then at 34 he goes up in weight and Pac aside fights

    Barrera
    Juarez (arguably beat MAB once)
    Casamayor (lineal at 135)
Juan Diaz x2 (former unified champ at 135)
    Katsidis

And ofcourse 4 fights against Pacquaio, where he has a good case to be 4-0 in.

This. Marquez has very little solid wins on his resume. He's a legend killer and made his fame from fighting Pacquiao and having his number, that's it.

Barrera and Morales fought prime fighters and gave the public memorable fights in their hay day. Marquez is the worst of the 4.

Katsidis is a nobody on the world stage, Casamayor was ancient, and he lost to Chris John. The only fighters on that list worth mentioning are Diaz and Juarez.

BS, maquez has surppassed his Counter parts easliy

no way barrera can be interchanged with Marquez

    Easily

    Marquez/Pacquiao
    Morales
Barrera :deal dont cry cause barrera got his ass handled to him by a green PAC, and Marquez beat him 3 times and KO'ed him once. Barrera is still a great who cares if he can't match JMM!:bbb

Gayner,Polo,Medina and Salido **** thats a featherweights murderers row add to that a trip to Indonesia to fight a Dragon and thats a run that would make Willie Pep jealous, Barrera and Casamayor both clearly hit their peak when they fought the already ATG JMM, Juarez punching volume is so high that would make Henry Armstrong look like Joshua Clottey and he too was dealt with ease by the juggernaut that is JMM, Katsidis is boxing's version of a spartan soldier beating him is the same as beating ten Erik Morales at the same time, his two wins over Diaz are the two best wins over the same fighter ever since Robinson beat Gavilan twice and last but not least theres the fights with Pac who he clearly beat four times by KO unless you're biased or a JMM hater, hell forget comparing JMM with the likes of Morales,MAB and Pacquiao hes way past that now he should be compared with the likes of Greb,SRR and Armstrong, some might go as far as rank him as the goat and with that resume can you blame them?

No ****ing way. He is the worst of the bunch if you ask me. Took him 4 times to beat Pac and after the mother****er was lazy being rich and toasting everyone at welter. Please... took Terrible 1 time only (and that was prime for prime). And Terrible did not eat the canvas 4 times in the 1st round for that one. Marquez is lucky to get a gift draw for their first fight.
