Id rather beat the unified 154 champ. Then pac who was recently caught in a desert storm before marquez put him to sleep. Pac is overated, when he steps up again, nap time.
Definitely. Pac was heavily favored, younger, fresher, I cant think of a better win. The only win that would be bigger is if Pac KO'd Money. If not, then thats the biggest win of our era. A HOF knocking out an ATG in that fashion.
No, because most had Jmm already beating Pac in their 3rd fight. I expected a Jmm win. But in terms of shock factor, yes, it's one of the most shocking kos in boxing history. But there's a difference between the two. But still, it has to rank up there with one of the best wins of this era.
In hindsight, Jmm should've gotten the nod over Pac in their 3rd fight. And that win would've been special because Pac had really shown no hint of slowing down outside of the Mosley fight but Mosley ran like a girl. Everyone expected Pac to blitz Jmm. The odds in their 4th fight were much closer and Pac had "lost" to Bradley. But heading into their 3rd fight, the perception was that Pac was still at or near his peak. Not so leading up to their 4th fight.
The thing is, Pac and his team+Bob were making excuses as to why Pac had such a bad showing that fight. Marital problems, training camp went poorly etc etc. The oddsmakers also had Pac as a significant favorite over him before their 4th encounter. Many actually predicted Pac to knock his ass out. We knew this was a bad fight for JMM. JMM having been robbed in their last few encounters, and being a year older. Not many really thought JMM would win this, but he did it in scintillating fashion. JMM was against Pac/Father Time/Judges that fight and triumphed in an epic way, knocking Pacquiao senseless. They needed sleeping salts to wake him up FFS!
Nope. Marquez vs Pac 4 Huge win for the underdog. Knocked him out cold, needed smelling salts. :blurp
http://www.boxingforum24.com/search.php?searchid=2853398 Check out the odds on Jmm for their 3rd and 4th fight. Jmm made pac look ordinary in their 3rd fight and derailed the impressive run Pac was on. The aura of invincibilty was gone after that fight. So in that sense, Jmm is still Pac's daddy. I had him clearly beating Pac in their third fight but he should've had the satisfaction of having his hands raised. There's no way beating Pac in their 4th fight tops Tarver ko Jones. I would say there are a few more better wins but can't think of them right now.
