Remembering he started boxing at around 18. You think hes just that natural. No one in the history of the sport has been before. Including mike tyson. Look how tyson trained since he was about 14. Then compare it to joshua.

Compare joshuas body to anyone in the last ten years. Tyson post prison. Haye. Bruno. Every one of them on the roids.

I know that genetics play a part...but your not telling me you ve got guys like fury doing full training camps. Martin. Any of them and there coming out completely different to guys like haye. Joshua etc.

Just so happens that the latter all have power that could bang people out without too much trouble

 

Martin was just Gary Cornish with a tan and a bad hairstyle. He was not worthy of expectation in the first place.

 

:deal That's the real issue and it just bears witness to how far down boxing has fallen. No integrity or principles anymore. It's like fast food, that is why there are so many B class fighters running around thinking they are the sh*t . They are just hyped up wannabes, hyped the media and boxing commentators referring to normal fighters as elite and superstars and oohing and aweing about a common boxing maneuver by describing it as brilliant or masterful just because it's a fighter they want to move ahead. There are so many titles that everybody fighting can get one. There should always be a tournament for a vacant title and only the top ten should be allowed to fight for it.

 

Martin was put in a level above his natural ability level. He should not be ashamed and he did not put in a poor performance.

No. There should be no disappointment as there never should have been any real expectations to begin with. Charles Martin was just a big dude with a big punch but no real talent.. He was stiff from the opening bell and had no skill or fluidity. Fifteen to twenty seconds into the fight it had already become painfully apparent that this was a mismatch.. And billing this as a "heavy weight title fight " was a deceptive sales pitch to the public and one designed to sell a lot of seats in London. Charles Martin came into possession of a "belt" by beating a guy who suffered a fluke injury - The same guy who only had a ranking because he received multiple gift decisions over the years and against guys who never should have been ranked themselves... I'm not so sure that Martin OR Glazkov were even fringe level...I wouldn't be surprised if the 45 year old Tony Thompson could still beat them both...
